How to renew/extend my Non-Immigrant O visa (Volunteer)?

Hello,

I'm french, and I live currently in Chiang Mai. I was granted a 3 months non-immigrant O visa (the volunteer one) which will expire on January 5th. My internship will last for 6 months so I have to extend my visa until April. I know it is early but I would like to know what are the options, and where should I go for the formalities. Do I have to cross the border?

The organization that you are working with will need to get you a work permit and then supply the documents for you to apply for an extension of stay at immigration.

It's possible that the organization will be unable or unwilling to provide what ubonjon has mentioned above.

In that case, if you still intend volunteering for them, you will need to obtain a new non-imm 'o' visa, likely in Laos.
