Credit Card Booking

Featured Replies

I am at present in the UK and due to return to Thailand on the 30th. I have just spent a great deal of time trying to book a flight with Thai Smile Airways on the internet from BKK to Udon Thani. Several phone calls to said company later it turns out that the reason I cannot book this flight using my UK credit card is that the system has now changed and they no longer accept foriegn credit cards for flight booking. It would seem somebody in their infinite wisdom at Thai Smile Airways has decided that only people who have a Thai credit card can book with same. You can of course book with Thai airways but it will cost you another 500 baht, I wonder why!

recommend Nokair. Usually cheaper than Thai Smile and service quality a lot better.

recommend Bangkok Airways, who fly twice-daily at 07.25 & 18.45, and have tickets from Swampy to Udon for B1,240 on the 30th, including a snack-meal & 30 kgs of hold-luggage (if you've got their free ff-card), never any problems with my UK-issued credit-card. smile.png

Thanks for your replies.

Firstly I did not go for Nok Air because they depart from the other airport and secondly I wanted to book with Thai Smile because of the price of 988baht. https://booking.thaismileair.com/Flight/Select Incidentally 2 weeks prior I did travel on Thai Smile from Udon Thani and it was paid for using my UK credit card.

It's a pain in the a³³ to book with them. I tried it too and at the end of the booking process I wasnt sure if the booking went through, really confusing.

The way around it is use the thaiairways website., the thai smile filghs are listed when you fly for example BKK-UTH

It might be a pain in the backside but lets get real...your talking $AU15 approx....i dont think it should be such a big deal i mean your not going to have to miss out on a few meals if you pay the extra are you?

Thanks for the heads up.

gf pay...always an easy pill to swallow!
