keeniau96
Note the rates are applied to Thailand taxable income, generally meaning funds from wages, interest, etc. earned and paid in Thailand. Income from outside Thailand is not taxed.

JimGant
all registered farangs or others as well as thais have a personel alloance of 150,000bht.each.before they start paying tax. Slightly more complicated than this. Think of the 150k as the basic standard deduction, to which you add other deductions (like 40% of wages, up to 60K), then exemptions, like 30k for you, and 30k each for your wife, and your over-age 60 mother-in-law, and father-in-law. Many other exemptions (allowances), but in the above example your taxable income doesn't begin until you're grossing above 300k -- at which point you enter the 5% tax bracket, applicable to the next 150k of income.
