Not really. What's grown in Thailand is not what we know as chives in the Occident - Allium schoenoprasum.

There are a few fairly common species, but the one usually encountered is garlic chives (also known as Chinese chives) - Allium tuberosum.

Chinese chives are the best IMO, none of these scrawny little things and TBH the OP's chives look beefy like Chinese chives.

I would suggest picking out the rhizomes every few days if you are using them for culinary purposes, otherwise leave them to flower, bees love them, however this time of year you will likely find an orgy of slugs on a decent plant at night time.
