I have a flight out of the country 1 day after my visa extension expires. I understand that in the past there was no penalty for a 1 day overstay. Is this still the case? if not, what is the new penalty? Thank you for your time.

Thank you. I don't intend to overstay again but the one time shouldn't be an issue... should it? Does anyone have experience with it being a negative? Is it worth the 1,900 baht?

One day of overstay is really nothing to worry about it will have no repercussions later.

The immigration officer do a small blue stamp in Thai that states you had an overstay of less than 24 hours.

Thank you :) I won't change my flight plans nor my girlfriends flight plans as we're both going to udom thani and then Vientiane (One day after my visa expires).

I am glad to hear it's a non-issue, thank you all and have a great day.

If you flying to Vientiane via Udon Thani that is a domestic flight and you will not clear immigration until you cross the bridge in Nong Kai. You will need to pay a fine of 500 baht when you leave.
