I'm in Thailand from tomorrow for a few weeks . On Tuesday I have a meeting in KL and thought I'd turn around on the same day. Get into KL around 10am , fly out 5 pm. I have a Spousal O multi entry. Am I likely to get any grief coming back into Thailand ?

Thanks Gents. For some reason the airasia site wouldn't let me book a return on the same day, it kept freezing on the booking page , so I had to book 2 one ways

It could be that you have a pop up blocker that kept you from seeing and clicking OK to one that comes up and asks if you are sure you want to make such a short trip.

You will have no problem because you have a valid visa.

What problems, if any, are people experiencing who arrive with a valid visa exempt [no visa] status for 30 days entry into the Kingdom of Thailand?

A visa exempt entry has no validity since it is not a visa.

No problem to do a visa exempt entry unless a person fits immigration's profile for a out/in " visa runner".

I was using the word "valid" in the sense of not being invalid or illegal rather than not expired.

Since the August crackdown date, what reports of problems are there, if any, for people from countries that qualify for a visa exempt 30 days on arrival in Thailand's airports, such as in being questioned or denied entry?

As ubonjoe mentioned above already: Only someone doing repeated back-to-back visa exempt entries could be questioned and possibly refused entry.

All good ,I was in Friday out Tuesday back in Tuesday night , no problem

The old Malaysia I-pass worked wonders in Thai departures immigration again, which was rammed to the back wall yesterday morning in the ASEAN bit as well. Immigration bird walking the queue looking at boarding cards , I showed her mine plus the I-card and she told me to follow her and she jumped behind the "Diplomatic" channel desk and promptly stamped my passport

I've done this route before. Out to KL on the first flight, back to Bangkok on a flight a couple of hours later. I was also worried but immigration and Air Asia said nothing.

I always leave the departure info blank. I just put my name and passport number on it.
