Non-O Visa from Europe.Extension?

Featured Replies

I have a thai wife and will go for a 1 year non-o visa soon.

As it is very easy to get it here without the paperwork and money required.

Now someone told me with this visa i can't get an extension (after 90 days) at the immigration in Thailand.

I have to leave the country every 90 days.

Is it true?

Thanks in advance

A Multi Entry Non Imm O visa would mean having to leave Thailand every 90 days

You can get a 12 month extension in Thailand if you have 400,000 Baht in the bank or 40,000 Baht monthly income.

Thanks Lite Beer!

But if i would make an non-o visa in Thailand

i didnt have to leave?

right?

If you got a multiple entry non-o visa at an embassy or consulate you can apply for an extension of stay at immigration during the last 30 days for any the 90 day entries the visa allows.

You are confusing visas and extensions of stay.

If you get a one year extension of stay you do not have to leave the country. You just make reports of staying longer than 90 days in the country.

if you have a multi entry non 'o' visa you have to leave the country and do a border run by air or land every 90 days, you can extend that at local immigration ( 1,900 baht) for one year financial proof is required, or you can extend for 60 days to visit Thai wife ( 1,900 baht), that would involve a border run every 150 days, 90 day reports will be required for either option. A one year extension would require a re-entry permit if you wanted to leave the country for any reason.
