Government and state enterprise offices requested to fly flags at half-mast for passing of Zambian president

BANGKOK, 4 November 2014 (NNT) – All government and state enterprise offices have been requested to fly the Thai flag at half-mast for the passing of the Zambian president.

The Secretariat of the Cabinet has sent the request to all concerned offices on Monday, following last week’s passing of Zambian President Michael Sata.

President Sata passed away at the age of 77, while receiving medical treatment for an undisclosed illness on October 28 in London.

The Secretariat of the Cabinet said that the flying of the flag at half-mast is intended to remember President Sata and to express condolences for his passing because of the long and cordial relations between Thailand and the Republic of Zambia.

Flags at all state and state enterprise offices will remain at half-mast for three days, from Tuesday to Thursday.
