KID Friendly (ie non violent) TV Options ?

Hi All,

I have a normal Thai Cable provider (DC Cable), 80 channels, 250thb pcm, some sports & news for me ...

But I fear there's too much violence on it with the Thai TV series/soaps etc and no apparent watershed, ie when Adult programs come on ie after 8pm

A nice feature is the cable is then available in all rooms in the house, but that's also the problem.

So I'm thinking of going binning the cable, maybe get ThaiExpat.tv which I've used now and again for myself and comes with set top box etc

But Internet dependant ...

Any other options ie IlikeTV or Astra or True kids package only that anyone can recommend ?

Forget about non violent television in Thailand.

My advise is to set up a server at home with content suitable for kids that they can play using simple HTPC or so and indeed bin the cable or satellite.

why not just connect your computer to the tv and stream cartoons and childrens entertainment progs through youtube

loads of stuff from the past which in my opinion is far more suitaible for kids than the garbage they put out today

I recognise a lot of them...from the 1960's.

I doubt modern kids will even watch them.

I tried showing my grandkids (both in Oz and Thai) Supercar, Torchy and Woodentops just for an experiment...in black and white of course......absolutely zero interest...just sort of gazed through them. Can't blame them though they looked pretty crap to me after 55 years too.

Torchy seemed pretty creepy with the old bloke and the children in the context of these more enlightened times.

Mind you I was awestruck as a young fella and named my Alsatian Torchy...apparently

I do have a USB 128Gb thumb drive of kids movies plugged into a TV but I guess it needs updating !....

or sex on sax the other day !!!!!

I don't mind the kids to see as many tits and ass as they like, but I don't like them to see someone beating his wife to bleeding 6 PM on Thai television...

As for the list, I tried some of the old stuff like Catweazle and Thunderbirds, but it's to slow for them, you have to get the new movies with much faster action, there is plenty available.
