Navigation Map for android?

Featured Replies

Can someone suggest a usable navigation map for android? I tried Google Maps, were you can put in the destination. But either I'm way to stupid or the app is crap. It's completly pointless for me. The streets are only in Thai language. Instead of name the villages, towns, it shows me hotels, Golf courses and so on.

Sygic is a good app, pay once and it's yours for life.... wai.gif

Oh, thanks. Someone mention it. I forgot the name. I give it a try.

This is a NAVTEK map http://here.com/collections?lang=en-GB

If you get a satnav / app with that map loaded then you should end up with a Thai map in English language.

You can compare the above map with a common open-source map which is in Thai: http://www.openstreetmap.org/

I tried Sygic, but it crashes when i zoom in or out.

Navtek looks interesting, but no idea how to get the map into the phone.

I miss my old Becker Traffic Pro. What a masterpiece.

I'm using 13.4.2 of Sygic (haven't upgraded to latest version as I am still in trial mode on this) on Kitkat and it works without crashing. There's a web site you can Google with a all the worlds available maps to install on it as well. I just get maps I need before I go somewhere.

Navigator. Free. It works very well.

Just installed Sygic 14.7.4 on an old Samsung Note 2 with Kitkat and it runs very well. No crashes or zoom, rotate issues. Nice looking maps.

I gotta love the Sygic navigator as well. It's not just an up to date road map with current POI, but inlcudes a lot a safety features as well. Warns on road bends, speed limit violations, has a HUD for nightime driving and has a black box feature that records latest five minutes of video and road track/velocity data.

Love Google with voice for Thailand... But you need 3G connection

OSMand has downloadable maps.

My guess is that ordinary satnav willnbe a thing of the past quite soon as these apps actually work as well and it is satnavs that have to incorporate their features just to keep up

You could try 'here' .. its the renamed Nokia maps ... download the maps and you can stay offline to use them
