RichardThailand
There was a thread about this but the thread is rather old and I guess things change from year to year. Can anyone give me an update on how easy it is to get a tourist visa from Colombo (or Kandy) in Sri Lanka. Are they issuing double entry tourist visas? If so how long does the visa application process take? I read one post mentioning four days but perhaps things have changed. Thanks,
RandomSand
There's no mention of double-entry, only single entry visa, at http://www.thaiembassy.org/colombo/en/services/4108 The familiar Visa application form still has a multiple entry check box under "official use only" at http://www.thaiembassy.org/colombo/contents/files/services-20120926-104320-815490.pdf Visa requirements are provided on their website. Suggest you contact them regarding multiple entry http://www.thaiembassy.org/colombo/en/organize/27636-Address.html Edited November 8, 2014 by RandomSand
ubonjoe
According to the last reports I can recall they will only do visas for Sri Lanka citizens and residents.
sarathjay
My step daughter who has an EU Passport went to Sri Lanka in Febr. without knowing the Resident Visa rule. She handed in the application for a triple entry tourist visa. The guy at the counter looked at the application and told her she is not a resident of Sri Lanka. Then my Step daughter calmly and friendly explained that she will be spending two months in SL and going back to her mother who has a work permit in Thailand. All of the Mothers documets were attached to the application. After some discussion in the back room and contacting Bangkok she was given the triple entry visa and the correct amount was also paid. It will be a risk to fly out solely for the visa. I personally would say, if you have no back to back visas on your passport and look like a genuine tourist, you have a good chance. Your question is not very clear. From Colombo - it is 4 working days for a visa to Thailand. Kandy - I doubt. Double entry tourist visas? - Not sure. But multiple entry, yes. http://www.thaiembassy.org/colombo/en/services/4108 Edit Sorry, for foreigners, I am not sure.
