November 10, 201411 yr Hi all, Today I picked up a non immigration o spouse visa from the Thai Consulate in Melbourne Australia. I'm a resident of Bangkok and I returned to Melbourne for a 3 months holiday. I was in and out of the office in no time, the cost $225 and no 400,000 baht up front was requested. The issued visa is multi entry does that mean I have to leave Thailand every 90 days or can I report to the Changwattana immigration office every 90 days as is normal when being issued a spouse visa in Thailand. I don't really care either way I just want to know where I stand on this matter. Cheers.
November 10, 201411 yr You must leave the country every 90 days, but during the last 30 or even 45 days on any permisison to stay you can apply for a 1 year exteson of stay. With the extension there is no need to elave the country, but than you do the 90 day reporting of your address.
November 10, 201411 yr You have to leave every 90 days. Immigration does extensions of stay not visas. If you had a one year extension of stay based upon marriage you would just need to do 90 day reports.
November 15, 201411 yr Author Thanks guys, so does that mean around a 20 days before my current no immigration o spouse visa expires I apply for a non immigration visa Thai wife as I usually do in the Changwattana immigration office. Cheers.

Cheers. As noted above, you would apply for an extension of stay, not a visa. The two are different things. In the future after you multi-entry visa is expired and you want to travel while having an extension of stay, buy a re-entry permit or the extension will become invalid. November 15, 201411 yr You also have the option of extending any entry for 60 days at immigration for "visiting your Thai Family". The cost is 1900 baht and no financials are required. TM6 form with one picture copies of pertinent passport pages, your wife's ID and house book, marriage certificate and your wife (not a copy)!

Cheers. You do not have to wait for your visa to expire to apply for a extension of stay (it is not a visa). You can apply for it during the last 30 days of any of 90 day permit to stays the visa allows you to get on entry. If you live in Bangkok you would go to Chaeng Wattana immigration. If not you have to use the office designated for where you live.
