Russia sends warships close to Australia

LOL.

I hope their ships are more modern than their vintage planes.

If they wanted to sit off the G20, they're about 2000km's south of where they need to be.

They can take Melbourne, nobody likes Victorians anyway ! wink.png

Give them Sydney as well. There is nothing there of any value.

As long as they stay out of God's country where the real aussies live.tongue.png

About time somebody went "down under" to wake them up.

Well, we were visited by the Japs once. Got as far as knocking on Darwin's door.

Close resemblance to ISIL as well. Did several beheadings but we held them off alone (with the fuzzies) at Kakoda. Actually the Russians might be better than the lot we are getting at the moment.

The fuzzies?

My God, I didn't think people still used such racially abusive terms.

If Russia really wanted to take Australia, who would stop them? They have backing from China, Saudi Arabia and North Korea. Now before you say anything about the US etc remember this… Russia is the biggest producer of gas and oil and China is the the biggest buyer, the saudi's know this as well. All could rid the dollar being the dominant currency and it will happen within the next decade. If they wanted to take America as well they simply start selling all oil and gas in another currency and the dollar crashes. This means that they can literally win a war without even firing a missile. If the dollar crashes, the entire American and Australian economy crashes as well.

It's the backing from North Korea that would be the clincher for sure w00t.gif but Saudi Arabia probably would not very well receive the news it was backing the CCP Boyz in Beijing -- the Saudis would indeed be more surprised about the news than the CCP Boyz would be surprised by it.

The Chinese yuan doesn't even float in the currency markets and the rubble ruble was just put out to float but it rightaway sank and nobody's seen it since.

Go for a dive? laugh.png

Shale gas is a scam and is not profitable at all. The reason the US does this is to manipulate global gas prices which they have done so recently which basically crushed the ruble in the last few days.

Nobody in OZ is either concerned or remotely interested in the Russian ships. Another journo beatup.

This evening Oz TV claimed the naval exercise was previously announced by the Russians January this year. Oz navy ship and an aircraft have been deployed to monitor their activities.

" A spokesman for the Russian embassy ....... "Nobody wants the conflict." ".

The conflict?

A translation thing, or is he referring to something else?

Russian is one of many languages that have no articles (such as a, an, the). English would be crippled without articles.

So when translating/interpreting from Russian to English the translator has to decide when to use articles. In many cases,

it's very difficult (maybe even impossible) to determine whether to use the definite article (the), an indefinite article (a/an) or

no article at all. And the English meaning (as we all know) is quite different if an article is mistakenly included (or omitted).

Australia would just sell its minerals and natural resources in whatever foreign currency it needs to. Other currencies might appreciate against the AUD, but that would be fantastic for australian exporters making Australian products cheaper in foreign currency terms.

Other nations can send their warships where they want... and they do. But nobody questions it.

But when Russia do it, then it is seen as aggression.

You couldn't make it up.

not if the other nation is china. then it is seen as really aggressive by the western media.

Very simply, this shows the Russians are worried about what Australian PM Tony Abbott has threatened to do to Vlad Putin.

Abbott, talking about those Pesky Ruskies having supplied the weapon that shot down the Malaysia Airlines plane, threatened to, as he put it,

"SHIRT FRONT" Putin.

Obviously Vlad and his Comrades are taking no chances and the Russian Fleet has been rushed to Australia....just in case......

Putin = Stalin reincarnated. Call his bluff now or regret it later.

Come now child, it's quite plain to see that this is just a posthumous pig-iron circumnavigational round of respect for the late, the great, Gough Whitlam

Big up to the Russkies, they got real balls =)

cheesy.gif sounds like Putin fan club has moved southcheesy.gif

Enjoy. The Ballsy, Dancing Russian Bear Act, moving in to your neighborhood, might be something more than you wished for.

In the meantime, watch the parade. China made it's big show out on the open sea, now here comes the Bear.

Sounds like old times.

Australia should not worry about military aggression from Russia.

1. The terrain is inhospitable.

2. The population is hostile.

3. To overrun Australia Russians have first to go across China.

I think recently Russians took interest in solving MH flights mystery. Maybe they want to join in a dive?

They are welcome to come to South East Queensland this weekend, it will be 40 Degrees C

The fact that Tony Abbott was threatening to 'shirt front' Putin when he went to Australia doesn't have anything to do with it then? That is the kind of childish, petulant thing that Putin is capable of.

for a minute I thought you were talking about Abbott, a real nutbag

Does anyone know the names of the vessels in the detachment, would be interesting to see what Russian force projection amounts too. Surely a shadow of the former soviet union, if it's only a handful of small vessels.

The fleet is made up of the "Varyag" cruiser, a destroyer named "Marshal Shaposhnikov", a salvage and rescue tug and a replenishment oiler.

Why invade Australia when ten nukes would wipe out most of the population.
