thai for "separated"

Featured Replies

What is the thai word for "separated" in the sense of being married but not living toghether ?

Please, the word in thai writing.

Of course, I have alraeady looked at various online and paper dictionaries. The problem is that I am not sure which of many words is closest to "not living with your wife/husband".

แยกกัน is much better

  • 2 weeks later...

แยกกัน would indicate they have split up, whereas แยกกันอยู่ would be more indicative of still being married but living apart.

Mai mee, is what the locals would say.

There's even a song about it

Jeep dai, fan chan dtie laow (I can flirt, by boyfriend's dead)

The full statement would be:

Yang mai mi bai anuyart yaek gab fairn deh-wa mai pak dui gahn naan laew

I am not divorced but we have been living apart for a long time now.

Sorry too lazy to write it in Thai.
