Health Stretched Waistbands: Bangkok Tops Obesity Charts
Kidney failure and pleural edema... not a fun way to go. But man those noodles were flavored Perfectly every time. Govt needs a health kick in the pants. There needs to be a healthy living mandate with all kinds of programs in schools and society, etc. Laws need to be enacted to save ppl from them selves a bit maybe... its too much. But then if poor, what foods can you afford? Low quality ones. Stopping corruption would be a good start to improving the economy. .. Which would in turn allow people to buy better food -

Crime Thai Authorities Seize 500kg of Ice Headed South
Picture courtesy of Daily News Police intercepted a major drug shipment of 500kg of crystal methamphetamine, known as "ice," in Chumphon before it reached its southern destination. On 19th May, intelligence from an informant prompted police to act on information that a drug trafficking gang was moving methamphetamine from Chiang Rai to the south via vehicles. Responding swiftly, officers from Division 4 laid in wait along the Petkasem Road heading south, ready to intercept the convoy. Upon reaching the Chumphon vehicle checkpoint, officers identified and stopped the suspects. The driver, Mr Anupong, along with Mr Jirapong, exhibited suspicious behaviour. A thorough search followed, and an x-ray of the truck with registration 74 6945 from Samut Prakan revealed a concealed stash of 500 kilograms of ice hidden inside a sealed compartment. Both men were charged with the distribution of a class 1 narcotic (methamphetamine), a commerce-motivated act impacting public safety and national security. They, along with the seized drugs, were handed over to the Narcotics Suppression Bureau for further legal proceedings. Adapted by ASEAN Now from Daily News 2025-05-20 -

First name and last name in Thai driver's license
Sounds like the OP has his name in the same order as you. Not an issue of any sort. My license is First/Second/Surname, maybe I should be the one to complain, mind you I don't use it for flights or hotels, etc. (UK license and Passport both have Surname first). -

Has anyone successfully been issued with a Thai Taxation Identification Number ( TIN).
It was near the train station across the main road...but again it was 2012 so you better double check if they are even there anymore 😉 -

Also - this is a classic example of the lies used by the anti counterfeit groups. Why would a company, even one producing fakes make sure their products contain some of the most harmful substances around - it's propaganda. A solid counterfeit operation will strive to match the quality of the original in such a way that even the trademark holders can barely tell the difference - this is what they fear the most and it's why they spend massive amounts of money employing private investigation agencies running non stop undercover operations for decades on end fighting it.
