Tycoon businessman Sergei Polonsky remains a wanted man in his native Russia, but that has not stopped a stream of aspiring entrepreneurs from flocking to his private island in Cambodia for a business course titled The Big Game.

The first incarnation of his training course on Saturday involved about 30 people – mostly young foreigners in beachwear – who participated in “intellectual and physical” challenges on Koh Dek Koul off the Sihanoukville coast, according to Polonsky’s social media pages.

A spokeswoman for Polonsky said yesterday that the business course would be the first of many on his several islands, which the tycoon has grand development plans for

“We want to develop the islands,” the spokeswoman reaffirmed yesterday.

Polonksy is wanted in Russia over a failed $176 million development project in Moscow. In April, he won a reprieve when Cambodia’s Supreme Court decided not to extradite him.

In July, Polonsky was granted a delay in an intentional violence case involving boatmen in Sihanoukville waters in late 2012. Following that alleged incident, he spent several months in pre-trial detention.
