Totally disagree, Bang Saen is a far greater experience than Bira.

Street race, you can walk around large parts of the circuit, have access to the pit area, are really close up to the action.

Have been the last 7 years, bigger and better every year, very professionally run and an eye opener for Thailand.

Yes it gets crowded Sunday particularly, guess thats what happens when you lay on a world class motorsport event for free! Go on the Fri or Sat for less crowds.

A great day out and quite a spectacle.

Yeah the best passing zone on the track going down into the hair pin is standing yellow because it's too difficult for the locals to pass safely. Most of the rest of the track is either too fast or too narrow to pass, so not much more then a parade from qualifying or a crash fest because you have to take big chances to pass, that leaves cars strewn all over the course with standing yellows everywhere so, unable to pass. It'd be nice if they removed the cars to get the race going again, but it never happens that way there.

It might be a nice weekend to socialize and see something different but not really a great race venue for "racing"..

World class ?

Not even close, spectacle, yes....

What is world class in Thailand. I'm thinking weather.

What is world class in Thailand. I'm thinking weather.

Ermmmmm... give me a minute.

It's a nice event, been a few times and would normally be a 10-15 drive there for me, but getting around it is a bit....urgh. Haven't bothered for the last 3 or 4 years due to it.

Like WS says it's not a great race due to the track and there isn't anywhere to see much of a section of track due to the tracks nature.

My 3 year old loves motor racing now but I take him to Bira, no way on earth would I try to get around Bang Saen with him, difficult enough on my own or with a slow Thai walker.

Then again I gave up with the British GP and Goodwood FoS and revival due to the crowds. biggrin.png

Nope, try again.. WE have world class weather where I live, not Thailand, I'm thinking the women is the best answer..

Bangsaen hosts hundreds of hotel rooms, from luxury at The Tide Resort to a simple guesthouse
You will find dozens of inexpensive guesthouses on the beachroad between soi 1 and soi 2. Simple rooms but safe and very friendly folks. Some of their restaurants will stay open all night Try Andy's seafood on beachroad, can't get any fresher!

Taking my son and mum today (to avoid the crowds). He saw the posters.

Drove him round the paddock on Tuesday night and was so excited.
