The Thai bashers seem to be out in force today so here is a chance for us Thai lovers to have some input,

I love Thailand because,

The people exude kindness and compassion

They are tolerant and polite

The weather is not cold

The food is out of this world

The eye candy is spectacular

Thailand makes me happy.

The police and government officials are people of utmost integrity.

Concern for the environment takes precedent over making money.

Care for others, especially the less fortunate, is utmost in the hearts of the Thai people.

It's always easy to find quality, reliable workers no matter what the job.

It's the type of place you think of first when you are planning a vacation with the whole family.

Only caters to the highest quality tourist.

One of the safest places to vacation especially if you are considering road travel.

One can only think of Thailand as paradise on earth.

It means it's holiday time!

there is always enough going on to inspire the Thai bashers to stay home, at their keyboards complaining.

This way they are not out on the streets embarrassing the rest of us.

It hasn't been overrun by feminists and progressives.

I love Thailand......... and hate it in an equal amount. There are times of pure exhilaration and at times things so infuriating they would make a saint kick a hole in a stain glass window.

In my mantra of, (trying) to adopt the philosophy of 'life is a journey, not a destination' I feel I sit on the fence when it comes to being a Thai basher or apologist but.......I spend a lot of time dragging a carcass back up on that fence, (having fallen into one side or the other from time to time)

I love Thailand Because.....

My wife is Thai...(she doesn't want to live in the States!)

Prices for most things (especially housing) is cheaper than US where I am from (Bay Area)

I love Thailand because I have always found it an easy place to live and it has given me a wonderful life. I wake up each day surrounded by a world of simple pleasures, of my own choosing. The comforting presence of my pets, the birds singing outside, the early morning fog and the ever changing view out our many windows while I sip my morning coffee, fills me with contentment.

I have been blessed with a loving relationship for more than 17 years. I am health, happy and want for nothing after living here for more than 37 years. If you stop drawing lines and differentiating between Thai or Farang and simply get on with living your life and doing things you enjoy, it gets easier.

If anyone is miserable here I tend to think it is at least partially their own doing.

The wats. The countryside. The smiles.

it isnt the UK

because i can(more or less) do what i want! this freedom i haven't had in my home country.

and certainly the weather...

but certainly NOT the food...

and i call it HOME

I love Thailand because...................

I take Thailand as it is and don't cling to benchmarks from where I am originally from.

I like to view things as they are, not what the could/should be. Like to live life in the now, not the past.

IMHO, if more 'visitors' could do this, it would be a very different subject matter to discuss on the different forums and bars ........................

But, that's just me

Don't have to pay council tax on your home.

Can do improvements to your home without having to pay extra cash to the local authority.

Don't have to pay this tax and that tax, Oh, too many to mention.

Don't need to buy a television license.

Can walk the streets safe at night.

The UK about 15% plus's and 85% minus's.

In the case of the UK the tediousness is very well deserved, Thailand has as much going for it as against, which cannot be said for the UK.

I wonder why "Enoch" AKA Possum1931 and the other ingrates who constantly slate Great Britain haven't just surrendered their passports.

I'd love the see the look on their faces when they turn up at Heathrow needing life-saving medical attention one and border control slammed the door HARD on their faces.

What a load of garbage as a post, me and the other ingrates as you say, have paid in to NI insurance all our working lifes, and are fully entitled to medical attention in "Great" Britain where lots of people need to go to foodbanks to survive partly because they have to help the rich get richer, what about the OAPs who die in their thousands from cold related illnesses every winter because they can't afford to heat their homes because again they are forced to help make the rich richer?

What about OAPs living abroad who have their annual state pensions increases frozen and are forced to go back to "Great" Britain? Thailand, like any country has it's faults, but they would never treat their people the way "Great" Britain does.

What about their dreadful history of plundering and murdering people in other countries through the centuries, and in our lifetime? "Great" Britain indeed.
