I have one question.

I work in Thailand, and make thb 70k pr month.

Will this qualify to get a marriage visa, once we get married, or do i need 400k in the bank as well.

Thanks

You can get an extension of stay (it is not a visa) based upon marriage to a Thai with an income of 40k baht having the money in the bank is not the only option.

You will need to show tax payments and and your work permit. Some offices will want a letter from your employer and/or company documents as well.

So if i work in Thailand, will i need a visa as well?
I have WP and everything else in order. But i'm tired of getting b visas....

To apply for the extension you will need a non immigrant visa entry.

If you have a non-b visa you can apply for the extension.

If you are on an extension based upon working you can change the reason for your extension to marriage.

Thanks Joe.

Sorry for all the questions.

I get B visas all the time. But i prefer 1 year multiple entry.

So if we get married, i can extend my non B for a year.

So what do i do when that extension expires?

Apply for a new extension.

You can apply for a an extension for up to 1 year at the time, every time the extension expires you can apply for a new extension (if you still qualify).

Visas are not extended. Only your permit to stay is extended.

You apply for a new extension before your existing extension ends. You can keep doing it for as long as you want.

Sorry to but in...I work in Angola 30 days in Africa and usually 26 in Thailand. I'm legally married to a Thai. UK citizen 40 yrs old. Have enough money in thai account in my name. Want a permission to stay...step by step what do I do?

Thanks.

You do not need a visa but can come to Thailand on visa exempt entries, giving you 30 days at a time. If needed you can extend this by another 60 days based on your marriage.

With you work schedule it will be very hard for you to get an extension of stay based upon marriage. Just the timing and the 30 day under consideration period makes it that way.

It would be best for you to get a multiple entry non-o visa based upon marriage that would give you unlimited 90 day entries for a year. You can get it in Savannakhet Laos with no financial proof needed.

Do you have a fools guide how to do this and what I require? Because I work in Angola I use 2 passports for Angolan visas. 1 the old one has overstays. Paid for at the airport. When I married I used the new one. No overstays.

Thanks.

There are several reports here on the forum about getting to Mukdahan and then crossing the bridge to Savannakhet. You can also fly direct to Savannakhet on Lao Airways from BKK but it is costly.

They are doing the visa on the same day you apply at the moment. Apply by 11 am and get your passport back at 3:30 pm.

You will need your marriage certificate plus a copy. Signed and dated copies of your wife's house book and ID card.

The fee will be 5000 baht.

It will not matter which passport you use. But it will have to be the one you used to enter Thailand on if you plan on crossing the bridge. You need 18 months validity on your passport to get the visa.

I live in Phanat Nikhom, Chonburi. Are there any hastle free embassys closer. I can go there but North East is a treck.

Veientiane, Cambodia would be easier?

There is no place closer that does the multiple entry non-o.

You can get flights on Nok Air and Air Asia to Mukdahan that are a a fly ride service via Nakhon Phanom.
