Just half an hour ago it was 28 degrees in Brisbane and a massive hail storm went through. My daughter witnessed (and I've watched the videos) of golf balls and bigger pelting down and many broken windows in cars and houses.

For such a warm climate, to have giant hail storms is amazing.

Any meteorologists familar with this phenomenon, and can explain why it does/doesn't happen in Thailand?
