Civil Aviation Dept. to discuss on air transport development with Indonesia and Malaysia

The Department of Civil Aviation will hold a conference on civil aviation, which is under the project to develop the economy in Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia. The conference will speed up the air transport development between the three countries.

Mr. Chaisak Angsuwan, the Civil Aviation Department Director-General, said the meeting, namely, the Third Meeting of the Sub-ITG on Air Transport, Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle, has started since 1993. The three nations have asked for the collaboration from Asian Development Bank to study and determine the framework of cooperation between them.

The scheme will help reduce the production cost and decrease the competition, while allowing the products from these three countries to be more competitive in the world arena. They will help promote each other’s products and exchange new technological innovations.

The Director-General said the conference will also discuss on ways to help develop tourism and the industrial sector.

The meeting will take place at Arnoma Hotel from August 9th to 11th.
