vulcan903
Returning to TH in a few weeks for Xmas and New Year. Travelling to BKK, Pattaya, Samui and Phuket. Any ofthese places have retailers selling Quadcopters with a camera using 2.4Ghz frequency. So expensive in the UK, though I would try TH but not sure if they are a must have! Millian
I was at MBK at the weekend and saw many shops selling (and flying!) quad copters. I cant comment on the specs though, as I didn't stop to check them out. Richard Barrow takes many shots with his quadcopter, a DJI Phantom 2 Vision Quadcopter. He has the specs on this article: http://www.richardbarrow.com/2014/01/flying-a-phantom-vision-drone-in-thailand/ where he mentions: "For those who are interested, I bought the drone at Hobby Thai in Ramkhamhaeng in Bangkok. They also do repairs which can be handy. It cost me 38,400 Baht which is comparable to the price on amazon.com"
innerspace
Tukcom in pattaya, ground floor at the back has dji phantom 2 for sale. Little more expensive than us but probably cheaper than uk.
cassde
I saw the quadcopter at Secutech last week - it was being offered by www.k-rc.net, Tel: 029653322. The website has all models with and without cameras, plus prices. Hope this helps.
ICECOOL
Was in Pantip Plaza BKK a week ago and saw some for sale on ground floor, right side as you walk in. No idea of the quality
MauiSteveBKK
Get the highest model of The Phantom. It's very good. I'm thinking of buying one for here on Maui, but was nervous about brining it to Thailand. What would The General think of this?

Don't know about the general but if you do get one to bring to Thailand then it should be one that operates on the 433 MHz frequency which is legal in Thailand versus 915 MHz which is legal in the US
Sommaz
You can try these sites for the specialist shops in BKK. http://www.hobbythai.com/ http://www.boomerang-rc.com/ (in english) If you are budget conscious and willing to consider buying 2nd hand, there will soon be a few folks selling their Phantom's and looking to buy the new DJI Inspire so you may be able to pick up a good deal. In which case try the classifieds and also the various 'stuff for sale' groups on Facebook.
CapeThai
I saw the whole range from entry level right up to the really massive ones at a photographic shop inside MBK shopping mall in BKK. I'm into technology so I only looked at the BIG one and the price tag was 275000.00 Baht. Amazing piece of machinery though....

Loles
In BKK you may buy QC in Panthip Plaza ground level, MBK ground level and 4th level, Khlong Thom market (cheapest solution) or many other small stores. The biggest problem to them they are made in (copy)China and their qualities are almost Zero. Don't buy QC at 1200 - 1500 B cause you will use it only 2-3 weeks. Opposite Panthip Plaza (Pathunam side) there is a good model shop. I don't remember the name of store. They sale high quality models but of course in high price. This store is very close to overhead crossing, a few meters only. Used to I buy many QC models cause I like them, very good fun, but already my stock is run out about low quality. Good luck. phazey
FWIW I bought a cheap (2500baht tops) one online from dealextreme.com - it's the same size as a parrot AR drone and can carry a small camera (40 quid from amazon) - Reason I went so cheap was that in the past I used to fly helicopters - which proved to be an extremely expensive hobby - ending in several thousand dollars of spares, late nights and carbon everywhere I decided to make the cost of my new craters a little lower. HOWEVER - drones are extremely stable and easy to fly - not even crashed mine yet... great hobby.
roly
I also bought a DJI Phanton Vision 2 at Hobby Thai in Bangkok, the price was around 38,000 baht. Only one crash so far, just caught a branch and had a soft landing with no damage, luckily. Cheers, Roly
Yme
I had a Phantom2 Vision and thought it was crap. FPV (first person view, ie., what the camera is seeing) broke up after about 50 meters. Great if you're flying in a field where you can see it, but useless if you can't. Took it back to Hobby Thai three times, three times it came back and they said it was fixed, but it wasn't. Ended up getting a full refund after 7 months of messing about. Typical Chinese built quality control. Support from their US and Hong Kong office was non-existent. Have seen some other people with the newer Phantom2Vision+ and they have the same problem with the FPV.

NanLaew
I am currently working with a kiwi guy in Vietnam who is the gruppenführer of all things drone related here and I will get his recommendations on what he reckons is da bomb. He uses these things professionally after wrecking a few hundred dollars worth as a weekend hobby.
