Thai public to be asked whether they want death penalty or not

Featured Replies

The Death Penalty should never be an option.

But isn't it interesting, that the"public" who by now is sentenced to silence by martial law, suddenly gets a say, in what they want or not?

.

That a very good point (points) DM07.

<snip>

Have to disagree. Execution should be an option, but only for the absolute worst offences.

The Koh Tao killers should be executed. But first, the real killers must be found and brought to justice.

I would also favor executing those in power who commit extreme corruption and/or abuse of power. ie: the Chinese Solution.

Of course, the country must have a fully functioning judicial system FIRST.

Is this post asking if each and every thai would like to be executed?

As much as I agree with your last sentence...

The rest...well...it is an opinion!

Asking the public in anything other than a referendum is pointless.

Whole system should be reviewed... Not only one item

If death penalty is abolished, high level criminal will half life sentence halved after confession, then halved again a few other time in December or reduced more for good behaviour....

And they will be out in just a few year....facepalm.gif

I don't know about Thais but a hell of a lot of people on this forum would support it.

It remind me of that poem. Bring Back Hanging - for everyone!

Read the paper - humdrum

Henley Regatta - page one

Eat die - ho hum

Page three - big bum

Giving a lunatic a loaded gun

He walks - others run

Thirty dead - no fun

Foreigners feature as figures of fun

Do something destructive chum

Sit right down - write a letter to the Sun

Say... "Bring back hangin' for everyone"

The took my advice - they brought it back

National costume was all-over-black

There were corpses in the avenues and cul-de-sacs

Piled up neatly in six-man stacks

Hanging from the traffic lights and specially made racks

They'd hang you for incontinence and fiddling your tax

Failure to hang yourself justified the axe

A deedely dee, a deedely dum

Looks like they brought back hangin' for everyone

The novelty's gone - it's hell

This place is a - death cell

The constant clang of the funeral bells

Those who aren't hanging are hanging someone else

The peoples pay - the paper sells

It's plug ugly - sub-animal yells

Death is unsightly - death smells

Swingin' Britain - don't put me on

They're gonna bring back the rope for everyone

Whole system should be reviewed... Not only one item

Still doesn't make the death penalty right.

in a buddhist country this should not even be thought of?......

Same could be said for all countries with a religion

What is happening to this country?

Its getting what it deserves.
