Oh what a peachy world some people live in. The suspect/witness gave his excuse and then was allowed to leave without any Investigations. The Taxi man who makes up a jackanory. God knows why maybe he used to hang out with the druggie who named the suspects....... Yes that's it isn't it.. they used the same weed so it must be lies and more damn lies...lol.. I have provided information to assist Reprieve and had discussions with the Case officer at Norfolk coroners amongst many many things, As for dislike of the RTP perhaps you can quote me? I have no definitive answer on the guilt of the 2 suspects. I have major concerns on the investigation. Only a thorough investigations void of interference by interested parties will suffice IMHO. I am not banging a drum for the B2.... But I am banging a drum for David and Hannah along with their families and the families of the 2 suspects who equally deserve justice and transparency. None of us have the full facts and I think you will see some explosive revelations at the trial. Ones that will knock some peoples version right of the rails. I must send out an urgent email to all taxi drivers advising to carry a recorder in their pockets in order to satisfy Mrs JD conduct code. Actually some people have done it to the police already.. not in this case but others and posted the footage. Rather hilarious.. Bang to rights. We had the same in the UK and its happened in the USA when they forget they are being filmed. Kicking the life out of people. its not just a thai thing. Theres plenty of corrupt Police and politicians so we must all be wary and not dismiss people as liars. In fact Scotland Yard, the Met police are in the firing line this week for covering up offences. So perhaps they did learn from the same text books as the RTP.. Why would he come out with such a strong accusation if it weren't true? ....for his 15 minutes of fame? For fun? Accusing the police of wrongdoing is treading on dangerous ground, and every Thai knows that. It's interesting that immediately after the taxi driver told his story, he went and sought refuge with the headman - the safest place on the island, if you're sufficiently deferring. Re; phone records. It would be interesting if there was disclosure by the phone company - re; who the 'people of interest' (former and current suspects, including several of the H's people) called, between the hours of 4 am and 8 am on Monday, Sept. 15, 2014. If that data exists, it's doubtful it will surface for the defense or the general public. Last year, I had a situation where I needed CCTV data from an ATM machine. It involved a crime, so I went and made a police report. Right away, I asked to see the CCTV data. Police said, "no problem, we'll get it for you." A month later, I reminded them, and they said, "no problem, all the data goes to Bkk and we made a request, so you'll get the data." Two months later, I inquired again. The same cops said with grins, "we can't retrieve the CCTV data. After 60 days it's all erased. Sorry." Same could happen with the phone data. It's the easiest way out, for the phone companies to simply say, "sorry. We don't have the data any more." It's a moot point, because RTP investigators don't want it made public, as it could quite possibly implicate the people they're trying to shield. 'Let sleeping dogs lie' is their mantra. Well some of us do. Regarding the taxi driver, he was under the "protection" of a different island headman, which must have helped him somewhat in speaking out. The fact that he has been vilified for it by one of the key players in this tragedy would indicate that the taxi driver was telling the truth. Probably in most civilised lawful countries it would apply, but then in these countries crucial evidence like DNA in a murder trial would be safe under lock and key. Let's not forget that there are plenty of scummy Burmese as well as scummy Thais on these islands. The last thing the conspiracy theorists wanted to hear was that the family accepted the findings of the investigation. The conspiracy gang will now turn their attention to attacking AFP, itv News, or any other news source that releases anything they don't want to hear. Shameful that they use the deaths of two innocent young people as a platform to pursue their hobby of trolling websites with their conspiracy theories. Yep, 2000 odd replies and counting from people that won't accept the grieving families view point. A view point based on FACTS (the PTP's greatest enemy) that the 2000 odd people are not privy to. If I was a family member that accepted the evidence and agreed with it the last thing I would want is to read the theories of stubborn conspiracy junkies. The sad thing is if the evidence proves beyond any reasonable doubt the Myanmar workers are guilty during this trial some will still disagree with the result because they will want to save face. A personality trait they belittle Thai's for adhering to. Shame, shame shame. I truly hope the grieving family do not bare witness to this thread. In some jurisdictions Yes but not here where the law can be made up as the case goes along and where a conviction is very necessary to save a lot of face and of course protect tourism. The grieving families view point could be one hell of a snow job based on the perfect evidence collected (now apparently lost / destroyed - oh! how convenient) by the RTP. It would seem, based on the comments of some posters using this same data, they would be more than happy to see these 2 guys face the firing squad without further hearing - cause they ARE guilty. Personally I don't believe they did it and would need to see / hear a lot more solid evidence than what has been touted so far by the so-called thorough and faultless investigation before changing my view. I think this deserves to be covered at least as much as all the other minor or very repetitive pieces of news we see on the forum. I feel disgusted by the fact that the inhumane killers of the couple are probably still out there, nothing has convinced me yet that these two tiny guys from Myanmar did this awful thing.
