I've surprised myself in that, after spending so many years in Thailand, and wintering here, that for the very first time I need to do an extension of a tourist visa (usually had something different).

Looking at it, I'm confused by some of the blanks:

passport or travelling document number: okay, passport number, plus issued at and when and validity

Visa: Tourist - but no request for the visa number anywhere?

Arrived By: Air (but no request for the airline or flight number - I can provide them anyway)

From: well, I've got my flight origin, but changing flights and airlines makes it a bit strange - I can include all the airport codes where I stopped or changed

Reason for Extension? well, I guess it's just to Enjoy more time in Thailand. acceptable?

But then page 2 confuses me: Address in Thailand: okay, my full house address

This application is written by: I assume I put in my own name there?

And then it seems to ask again for my address, although providing blanks that even using a tiny font I'd be unable to squeeze my complete address in there.

I'll see about printing my photo in the space provided (b&w as that's my printer) but will carry extras in case they ask for them.

I know, I could simply wait until I front up to the Immigration Office in Map Tha Phut and do it all there, but I'd like to walk in fully prepared, and it's feeling very strange after all these years to be doing this for the first time.

Anyone help out a bewildered ol' fart?

Have your passport photo (usually sold as set of 4) taken at any photo shop (should be one near immigration, if you can't find another). Attach (staple or tape) one picture to the document, keep other copies with you. Print out the TM 7 double-sided on a single page of paper.

Don't worry about visa number, that info will be given by the copy of the relevant page of your passport that you provide with the TM-7.

From: I would put the last place the plane was on the ground before your arrival in TL.

Reason: tourism should be sufficient as a reason. I guess you could mention someplace you are planning to visit if you wanted to.

Yes, you are the one filling out the form smile.png

Ignore the first address line on 2nd page.

Put your Thailand address when prompted for the specific parts of the address.

You need to provide photocopies of your passport (ID page, Visa page, arrival stamp, departure card you received on the airplane - TM 6).

You should be commended for wanting to have everything prepared before you get to immigration. Will make your life easier, the lives of the immigration officers easier, the lives of the other people waiting to conduct their business at immigration easier. It's a good thing. Wish everyone felt that way, it would really make things easier at some of the busier immigration offices.

Thanks, Skatewash. I feel such a noob about this, and I've been here for years! It's such a simple thing, but this is the first time I'm doing it.

I like to have everything ready so I can just hand it to them. The best timing I've hat at Map Tha Phut Immigration Office for my 90 day reporting was about 45 seconds, and there was a delay as the officer couldn't find the address card to hand me as he said that I could also do this report by mail.

They're a great office, and I've never had any problem there. But I do like to be prepared, so I'll have all with me.
