Yingluck still more popular than Abhisit: survey

I'd vote for her over Abhisit. But then I am not Thai.whistling.gif

Anyway what idiot relies on surveys to say how they are perceived by the general public in Thailand at this present moment?cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gifgiggle.gif

A level headed person to vote for out of the two then Abhisit is the only one that fits the bill. You as a non Thai Westerner probability, You have to have a problem somewhere to come to that decision. UNLESS your only thinking that she attracts you.

Please tell the posters her attributes/ chairpersonship/strong leader qualities/--she was not voted in by the electorate but shoved into the job by her brother---give us a break please.

Anyone that is impartial would give my answer. so forget me and the Issan voters. Who could reply to Question time the better. You have lost this one mate, apart from other members of the clan of course they will agree with you.

A level headed person would have seen that I was taking the pi#s out of the article.

So I lost the understanding/favour of a self Imposed satirical bigots diehard dogmatists rant. Well if I have only lost that then I count myself a lucky man.

Just a hint on how to reply, be a little bit more focused on what and how something may be implied. Share respect. If you can’t understand, ask a question, and you might find that people will respect your view even if it is different.

And still, there's people out there who are convinced that Abhisit can beat Thaksin in a two-horse race !!

I've said this once, and I'ill say it again. If we're going to see Thaksin not as leader, the following must happen. Abhisit pulls out of whatever election, the junta will take part in the election. Now then, Thaksin verses the junta, and throw in the little parties as well, but NO Abhist. Is this the democratic election everybody wants ? Can the pro-Thaksinites and the anti-Thaksinites say NO to this election ?

Thailand has to go back to being a democracy. America and Europe have downgraded their poltical and economic links with Thailand since the coup. This can't carry on forever. Thaksin or the junta, Thailand needs to be a democracy. Winning an election will mean that the junta is democratically elected. Abhisit taking part will split the anti-Thaksinite vote.

And if Thaksin wins again, (and he surely will in a two-horse race between Thaksin and Abhisit), well, we're back to a load of Chinese in yellow shirts and/or whistles, bringing Bangkok to a standstill. Throw in bus-loads of people from South Thailand.

Does anyone want to see this ? Does anyone want to go back to square one ? People who have got a shop or whatever bussines in Bangkok certainly don't want this. And it don't do foreigners any good either.

Just about any poll taken which reqires a choice between a male and a female of the human species, no matter the comparsion of eithers real ability will favor the female gender; the results are attributed to human favoring the under dog, their natural instinct for protecting the source of physical satifaction, and the life long goal of reproduction. poog tang is a driving force, even if not attainable from the specified female subject.

Why do to think there are billions made each year on porno sites, nude picture magazines, whore houses, etx, Just count the number of couples who are referenced as lady name first , male name second, that is the natural way to vote in a poll. Its simikar to the number 7 being the most popular, If you want a better poll pit 10 males and 10 female names to the poll respondents and see who is named (include the most popular actor and actress in the list as well as adam and eve

Flawed logic. Tell me why all 44 US presidents have been men? You are flat out wrong. You could not be more wrong.

What about the junta ?

If they subsidise diesel and petrol, carry out land-reform that will give land to the poor and landless, and a few more benefits as well. Then, everybody in Thailand will love the junta. And if the junta wins an election, America and Europe will be back to having normal relations with Thailand.

Curious as to why the poll didn't pit the ever popular Yingluck against Mr 93% Prayuth. Decomposing stray soi dog sidewalk turds are more popular than Abhisit.

Why be curious when we all know what the result would be........

But the Shinawatra purge will continue untill they're all gone......which may take untill 2016!!

Call an election any time you like and she will walk it, which is why they won't until they have rigged the deck. There is no way I would like her back in power, but it should about what the majority want, not just me.

Try providing viable political alternatives if you don't like them instead of just seizing power in a sulk.

Baboon, unless you are Thai .. in which case you should stay off this forum which is for ex-pats... whoever is the Premier has Nothing to do with you... and just for your knowledge, Yinluck did Not win the majority of votes, she had to call in other parties to prop up her government and those coalition partners cost the taxpayers a fortune in bribe moneys.. Yinluck is an airhead which we all know now. (some of us knew before) and it may be, by the time she has to face the punishment for her rice scheme disaster, that she will not be allowed to be in politics for a long time . Lets hope so !

Personally, I would love to see her sent to prison for her crimes.. but that will Never happen. whistling.gif

Since when are Thai people not allowed to post on this forum ?

Actually Yingluck did win the majority of seats in parliament (265 out of 500) so she did not need the other five coalition partners to form a government.

Maybe next time try to be factual correct before you hit submit ?

ginjag quote - Just look at all the women and men in 70% of Thai rural areas every day idling around.

What are the other 30% doing? Please enlighten one.

READ AGAIN I said AREAS NOT 70% of the people that live there. think a bit. try not to twist my post. doe's not do you any favours.

Ok Ginjack I will correct tukky's question. What are the women and men doing in the remaining 30% of Thai rural areas?. We are all intrigued to know and further more, how was your research conducted?.

So, are we saying here that the coup hasn't changed anything?

Really coups; twice in fact with laws re-written and campaigns in the north to persuade a swing away from the Shins. So 2 coups with the full cooperation of the courts and independent agencies and a Shin still leads in the popular vote. Not encouraging outcome for the pro establishment elites. Ahbisit got to work harder or take leave.

"a swing away from the Shins"

Don't cry for me, Thailand, I'm prepared to die for you with no doubt my big brother standing behind me at the first shot fired.

Anyway, the level of adoration the "Shins" seem to get by some is somewhat disturbing.

Correct, the Pheu Thai party won 265 out of 500 seats. The Pheu Thai lead coalition had 300 seats (if I remember correctly). The Pheu Thai party could have formed a single party government, but Thaksin stated that he had experienced that didn't work well in Thailand. Of course Thaksin only spoke as non-involved golf caddie.

48% "undecided". 1.5% difference between Yingluck and Abhisit. 12-18 months until the next election.

Anything can happen.

Yes of course.

If prior history is anything to go on, that difference could well be much bigger.

Of course the chance that elections in 12-18-24-36 months will be a race between those two might be close to zero.

After all, the junta is currently in the process of impeaching Yingluck, which would lead to a five year ban. Unless of course the Junta stays on for a bit over five years, in which case this race could be on.

Yep that is indeed correct, 6 parties and 300 out of 500 seats.

Thaksin influencing the formation of that coalition government is at the same level as Newin's involvement with the previous coalition government. I cannot remember you objecting to this at the time, but I guess, at the time the "good guys" were running the show, so no need to object, right ?

I assume you meant "the NLA may impeach Yingluck on ground of 'negligence' based on the evidence submitted by the NACC".

Which previous coalition government? Samak, Somchai, Abhisit, or even before that ?

BTW I think even Newin will probably object to be compared to a criminal fugitive.

Anyway we're here on polls and Yingluck and Abhisit near equally popular. With the negative remarks on Bhisits popularity that doesn't bode well for Ms. Yingluck. Time she went abroad because she promised her son. Gives her also the opportunity to bump into big brother again. Now that should raise her a few %%, at least in some peoples eyes, mostly the group which doesn't like 'elite'

Ah, of course I forgot, the NACC has initiated the impeachment, the body that also is in the process of impeaching 38 or actually 35 senators, as three of the 38 will not be banned, due to them having changed jobs. (read are part of the current administration). Setting a good precedent for Yingluck, as she isn't currently the PM.

Of course the mere suggestion that the NACC could have been instructed by the current Junta is way over the top right ?

Just as the fact that the body that will eventually vote on the impeachment was appointed by the same Junta, does not in any way indicate Junta involvement, right ?

So yes, the Junta is impeaching Yingluck. Let's cut the bull and call a spade a spade.

the governement that was made possible by Newin whilst he was serving a 5 year ban from politics, so that points to the Abhisit coaltion.

At the very least, people that voted for PT knew of Thaksin's involvement, they hardly kept that a secret.

I doubt Newin would object, after all, his party even tried to join Yingluck's governement.

Being called a criminal in Thailand means only one thing, being unable to get away with it. Ask Newin, he should know..

Newin's "party" was a faction of TRT and PPP. They parted ways and started BJT when PPP was dissolved. I think you will find that, at the very least, people new of Newin's involvement when they were voting for PPP in Buriram after he was banned.

I am sure the people in Buriram knew, of course when they voted for him he wasn't banned (obviously). Doesn't change the fact that he was instrumental in forming that coalition and that he indeed was banned at the time, hence he shouldn't have been involved at all.

He was banned before the 2007 election. He was an executive of TRT when it was banned.

In 2007, after he was banned, people voting for "the friends of Newin" faction of PPP would have known of Newin's involvement.

He was a banned politician. The rest doesn't really matter.

I understand only PTP should follow the rules to the letter, the rest can get away with anything as long as the good guys get their hands in the cooky jar.

He was a banned politician. He was involved with both PPP and the Democrats while he was banned.

PTP obviously don't follow the rules, since they're owned by a banned politician.

Neither did the democrats when they formed their coalition. Unfortunately I have never seen Rubl or you object. If you are propagating following the law, you should not make exceptions, otherwise your motives will be questioned, as this exchange proves.

Let's not discuss the current lot, as there are quite a few laws they broke and subsequently replaced by their own.
