Here is a quote that is not taken out of context I just read today, Why is is not tracking the world markets ?

Gold unchanged, world prices fall.

Gold prices were unchanged at its opening at 9.22am on Saturday.

In world markets, gold prices fell for a third day as gains for the US economy cut demand for the metal as a haven, Bloomberg reported from New York on Saturday.

Two different markets

Gold ETF's are paper. (An investment in the West's ability to control the bullion demand)

Bullion is bullion. (An investment in actual GOLD

The ETF's will eventually go the way of all paper plays.

China, India and Russia will continue to purchase bullion at record rates.

European governments will continue to ask for repatriation of their bullion.

Why are Thai gold prices not dropping ?

Thai prices reflect the demand for bullion.

Wanna buy gold ? Just go to Kitco. Pay the premium for bullion.

for the record: the Thai gold market is tracking the world market with a margin of ±2%. anybody who doubts that hasn't done his homework because he forgets to take the fluctuating Baht exchange rate into consideration.
