Hi all,

I am supposed to go to Vientianne on December 29-30 to apply for a new visa. I chose these dates because I know the consulate will be closed on 31, 1, 2, 4. But now some people in Thailand are telling me that this year, December 29 et 30 will also be considered as national holidays. Is there someone who heard about this? There is nothing on the consulate website and they are not answering my phone calls AND emails.

I need to know if I have to cancel my flights.

Thank you very much for your help!

They will be open on the 29th and 30th. The only added holiday is on the 2nd.

Just member though that any glitch in doing your application would cause you to wait until the 5th to get your passport back.

if you need a visa and they give you the visa the next day after you apply, I would be sure to give them an extra day and prepare my journey in accordance. you never know.! so plan to stay 2 nights in Vientiane but book hotel for one night only.
