Received your question, but can't find it posted. Not really into Japanese politics.

Apparently Abe was re-elected as there was not really much of a selection and mainly because the Japanese preferred to keep the government as it is, rather than changing it. Japanese leaders change so much that the general opinion is that the country would appear a bit more stable if the present government continued, rather than select yet another new leader.
