Having a couple of weeks in Vietnam. What's the best sim card to buy and where to buy it, thanks?

Thanks for the reply. Am arriving HCMC airport. I need data on my phone for Internet, Line etc.. Is there some facility similar to AIS in Suvarnabhumi? Will be travelling with no definate plan, maybe Da Nang or Hanoi

from airport, get yourself to the hotel first. And then, go out of hotel either to the left or right and there are many places that sale sim card. Ask for a Mobifone simcard about 50thousand dong, about 70baht.

After that, tell them to sell you 200thousand dongs worth of Mobicard.

Scratch the card. then from the fone press

*100* and the pin number on the card and then # and press send.

YOu will get a message right away that you have 200plus thousand dongs in your account and the expiration date of about 2 months.

Now, if you want internet on your smart fone. Type

miu85 and text message send to 999 and press send.

Now you will have 30 days of internet on your fone anywhere anytime in the whole Vietnam.

miu85 is the 85thousand dong package. You can do a miu120 or miu125 or something and you get almost unlimited amount at a very fast rate. Like watching video and play game etc.

When you do the miu85 or miu125 and send to 999. YOu don't even have to ask for wireless password at the hotel and even if you are behind many walls or on the mountain somewhere as long as mobifone is working. Which is everywhere in Vietnam.

Then you have internet too.

*101# and press send.

Remember, you must dress comfortable and kind of poor like them. Buy a used jacket at the morning market for about as low as 10K dong or 15 baht to 20K dong or 30baht. Wash it one time and make sure the jacket has pocket inside the jacket. Now put your wallet and money fone inside there. And put 200K dong and less in your outside jacket for use. Enjoy your trip.

At HCM airport, after customs, go to the shops on the left. I went to the last shop selling vinaphone cards. They are selling a unlimited data SIM card for 140000 dong. It's valid for 1 month. That's about $7 us. They will install and set up the phone for you. The data card was very fast for a 3 g line, used it for 22 days while I was in dalat. Most importantly, there was coverage all over .
