Can't load up social media on True network- well, it loads but anything that's not cached doesn't show up now- Facebook, Instagram... won't work on the True wifi or True 3g / 4G.

Friend has the same problem- they can load it on DTAC but using True Wifi doesn't work.

Anyone else having this problem? Bangkok based.

I seem to be having the same issue. Also some applications on my pc, including online games, will simply not connect to the internet!

Edit: Contacted true, their reply: "Now we are having network event that is causing you to slowly access or be unable to access international social media websites, we are currently fixing this problem right now, we will inform you the result via sms when the error is fixed"

Specific time to have this fixed is unavailable.

Yeah, it's odd, Instagram loads a few pictures but the rest won't work. Same with Facebook on the mobile. On desktop the page won't load properly. Line is affected as well.

Only via True though it seems.

I think True DNS is having an issue. I wanted to view foxnews.com to see the Republican view of the day on how the evil Democrats are destroying America and couldn't reach it...had no problem with other sites. So I connected via VPN with a U.S. IP address...could reach foxnews.com no problem. Then I disconnected VPN and just tried changing my DNS to the Google DNS (8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4) and could reach foxnews.com. Yea, True is just having a DNS problem.

Seems to be working better now.

An hour and a half without social media. felt like a lifetime. almost came that close to... to reading a book... :(

Yea, sure enough, a person can get to foxnews.com again without using google dns or vpn. I'm now back on the True DNS default setting. Gosh, I just looked at what Obama and Democrats did today...absolutely terrible according to foxnews. Now, let me go over to the Huffingtonpost.com to see the Democrat view of how the evil Republicans are destroying America. I'm confused.

I've noticed this for over a week now, especially in the evenings. I am on cable internet 16 Mbps.

I was talking to a Thai friend about it and he said he read in a Thai newspaper (last week!) that the Internet was slow because of the government's surveillance system.

I don't know what it is, but even loading a Thai visa page took 90 seconds the other day.

Torrents are at a standstill in the evenings (can't even connect to peers), but super fast in the mornings.

I complained to True and they sent a technician, but of course he couldn't find anything. When he was here I was getting the full download speed when testing, but still the websites took a minute or so to open. He said it was "normal" and left!

I give up and use the mobile for browsing.

Your problem is just a slow connection to your residence/your local area. I think when you say cable, you really mean xDSL which is a copperline/phoneline as a cable connection runs over a different type line...a line like TV signals run on. And very common for Thai internet to slow down in then evening to around midnight as everybody is home/off work/out of school using the internet.

I'm on a True DOCSIS/cable 15Mb plan and it zips alone fine....ThaiVisa pages load fine...they appear on the screen very quickly.

No. it is mot xDSL. I have cable Internet - True Ultra High Speed. There is a splitter to separate the internet from the cable tv. If the cable tv is down then internet is also down. This happens quite often in our area. True blame it on maintenance.

Today (or should I sat right now) the Internet is fine but it can change just like that.

I still believe the problem lies with True.
