December 20, 201411 yr Inquest of Derby man found dead in Koh Tao A FAMILY who think their son could have been murdered on holiday in Thailand want to launch a campaign to find answers over his death. An inquest into Nick Pearson’s death concluded today when acting senior coroner Louise Pinder said he drowned and recorded an open conclusion. “It has brought some comfort but there is still a lot more we want to know. The Thai authorities are keeping quiet and will not cooperate with the British police, which is very frustrating for us.”...the investigation had been “limited by geography” and, despite an official request through the Foreign Office, no response was given. December 20, 201411 yr Popular Post Nick was a friend of mine. Terrible what happened to him. Really nice guy.
December 20, 201411 yr Popular Post Starting to sound like Koh Tao should change their name to Koh Death.
December 20, 201411 yr Nick was a friend of mine. Terrible what happened to him. Really nice guy. What did happen to him? Can you tell?
December 20, 201411 yr Popular Post "The Isand of Death" has a sinister ring to it. TAT could promote it, I am sure of that.
December 20, 201411 yr Popular Post This was the guy, who according to the RTP fell of a cliff 50 meters into sea and drowned. Despite the 50 meter fall, there was not a scratch on his body!! Another fine piece of investigative work by the RTP!! Or in other words, another case of sweeping under the carpet, what really happened!!
December 20, 201411 yr Popular Post Lawless thats what is happening That's what you get when you don't punish 'elite" criminals Murder, rape and extortion... Welcome to Koh Tao What on earth is happening in Koh Tao ? Edited December 20, 201411 yr by BoristheBlade
December 20, 201411 yr Popular Post Thai authorities keeping quiet and won't cooperate? Now there's a shocker! Kids..... Do yourself a favour and stay away from Koh Tao!
December 20, 201411 yr The mafia on Koh Tao needs to rein themselves in. A few more Brit deaths there will be the absolute end of tourism. With the death hotel in Chiang Mai, their solution was to demolish the hotel. But I think Koh Tao is too big to demolish......

Another fine piece of investigative work by the RTP!! Or in other words, another case of sweeping under the carpet, what really happened!! So there is a cover-up because he had no "scratches", OK. From the article you didn't even bother to read: "He said: “There were some bruises on his face. He could have fell, bumped, or been assaulted. From a pathologist’s point of view, his injuries are not from an assault but I can’t rule it out.” He said a lot of the injuries had occurred after his death."
December 20, 201411 yr Popular Post RIP Nick, but it is completely unrealistic for the UK family to believe the RTP have to deal with the Derbyshire police. People please understand how countries and jurisdictions work. If you want UK police to investigate, alway holiday in the UK. You might feel safe dealing with your local constabulary, but they have zero influence and/or authority outside your borders, and it is totally unrealistic to expect anything different.
December 20, 201411 yr Popular Post Tourists should avoid going to stay on this death-island, think twice before going!
December 20, 201411 yr Popular Post The culprits behind this murder (IMO) could very well be the same, who killed Hannah and David!! And no, they are not from Myanmar!!

This often involves requests to police via appropriate channels. Edited December 20, 201411 yr by evadgib
December 20, 201411 yr Popular Post Firstly R.I.P Nick. From reading the Derby Telegraph article it seems the fella also had a bum knee. Falling 50ft (pushed or not) being disorientated due to alcohol and the fall, then finally having a bum knee and maybe not being able to swim properly, would likely pan out with someone dying, no? Can't comment on push or not pushed, wasn't there so who knows....... Edited December 20, 201411 yr by JeremyBowskill
December 20, 201411 yr Just very sad for the family. They are never going to get any real clear answers.
December 20, 201411 yr http://www.samuitimes.com/parents-convinced-sons-death-koh-tao-murder/ Deja-vu. Here is some background to the case.
December 20, 201411 yr Popular Post Thai police don't cooperate - no compassion, tough luck foreigners. Thais have a bad attitude. Everyone knows that.
December 20, 201411 yr well i wouldnt send the british police over they lost their balls maybe ask myanmmar for help
December 20, 201411 yr The culprits behind this murder (IMO) could very well be the same, who killed Hannah and David!! And no, they are not from Myanmar!! Reading your post, I thought about it. Maybe (just got this idea) some big Real Estate monsters behind it. Ruining the reputation of the island, wait until the land plot prices tumble down, buy whole areas and wait a few years in order to sell it after prices have risen again. (But I'm not a businessman, not an economic expert)
December 20, 201411 yr "The Isand of Death" has a sinister ring to it. TAT could promote it, I am sure of that. Island of death.JPG Koh Khwām tāy. Not exactly a TAT conceptual feat of advertising legerdemain.
December 20, 201411 yr Popular Post Sadly the more one reads and hears concerning KohTao the more one gets the feeling that something is not right.Strange deaths that are passed off as, or regarded as accidental.Murder investigations that are totally flawed etc etc Why does there seem to be an ongoing cover up ? There seems to be no regard for the rule of law and order on the island or is it the fact there is no law and order on the island which seems to be in a state of anarchy. There appears to be total silence from the islands political team, council and the police and business and medical community who all seem to be somewhat inept ,corrupt. Lies and deceit seem to be the norm, why are there no comments from the residents both Thai and foreign. It would seem a possibility that a solo killer, a psychopath or the possibility a group of violent characters roaming around the island bent on violence and subsequent death, again not necessarily 100% Thai in its make up either. The island seems to be a snake pit of violence corruption lies and deceit, yet we still see posters spring to the defense of the island .Indeed one is left to speculate why there is such support ans ongoing denials of the truth on this island. Perhaps a clean out of the administration team and what passes as the police farce force on this island may well be in order if in fact not long overdue. Edited December 20, 201411 yr by siampolee

Or maybe this death was an accident; drunk person falls of a cliff is not exactly a far fetched scenario, is it? Until one reads of the effects of such a fall. Do you think no signs on the body can be manifested after such a high fall? Look , only a few people are left still believing the Thai versions on almost anything these days. Some people refer to them as suckers - fools.
December 20, 201411 yr alecG post # 28 Or maybe this death was an accident; drunk person falls of a cliff is not exactly a far fetched scenario, is it? And maybe it wasn't.
