Inquest of Derby man found dead in Koh Tao

Sadly the more one reads and hears concerning KohTao the more one gets the feeling that something is not right.Strange deaths that are passed off as, or regarded as accidental.Murder investigations that are totally flawed etc etc

Why does there seem to be an ongoing cover up ?

There seems to be no regard for the rule of law and order on the island or is it the fact there is no law and order on the island which seems to be in a state of anarchy.

There appears to be total silence from the islands political team, council and the police and business and medical community who all seem to be somewhat inept ,corrupt.

Lies and deceit seem to be the norm, why are there no comments from the residents both Thai and foreign. It would seem a possibility that a solo killer, a psychopath or the possibility a group of violent characters roaming around the island bent on violence and subsequent death, again not necessarily 100% Thai in its make up either.

The island seems to be a snake pit of violence corruption lies and deceit, yet we still see posters spring to the defense of the island .Indeed one is left to speculate why there is such support ans ongoing denials of the truth on this island.

Perhaps a clean out of the administration team and what passes as the police farce force on this island may well be in order if in fact not long overdue.

Or maybe this death was an accident; drunk person falls of a cliff is not exactly a far fetched scenario, is it?

Until one reads of the effects of such a fall.

Do you think no signs on the body can be manifested after such a high fall?

Look , only a few people are left still believing the Thai versions on almost anything these days.

Some people refer to them as suckers - fools.

Well, this sucker actually read the article on the OP and the coroners opinion on the injuries.

An appointed Thai one- whose evidence is refuted in more civilised countries

The mafia on Koh Tao needs to rein themselves in. A few more Brit deaths there will be

the absolute end of tourism. With the death hotel in Chiang Mai, their solution was to

demolish the hotel. But I think Koh Tao is too big to demolish......

worth a try

The culprits behind this murder (IMO) could very well be the same, who killed Hannah and David!!

And no, they are not from Myanmar!!

Reading your post, I thought about it.

Maybe (just got this idea) some big Real Estate monsters behind it.

Ruining the reputation of the island, wait until the land plot prices tumble down, buy whole areas and wait a few years in order to sell it after prices have risen again.

(But I'm not a businessman, not an economic expert)

Koh Tao in it's entirety is a National Park, concessions are leased to a number of families on the island (6 I think) with 5 family groups on the side of the island he was murdered. These families then sub-let plots to dive groups, bars etc. I could go on.......

A couple of years ago i read about a Russian travel agency who organised safari's ... hunting Somali pirates. Maybe they can expand their business to Koh Tao ... Safari on murderers ...

RIP Nick, but it is completely unrealistic for the UK family to believe the RTP have to deal with the Derbyshire police. People please understand how countries and jurisdictions work. If you want UK police to investigate, alway holiday in the UK. You might feel safe dealing with your local constabulary, but they have zero influence and/or authority outside your borders, and it is totally unrealistic to expect anything different.

Uk coroners have a duty to investigate all suspicious deaths abroad where mortal remains are repatriated. This often involves requests to police via appropriate channels.

If the family request then this procedure is surely correct. I do not know of any complaint along these lines, however, the correct system must be followed and expectations of use of the coroners office and the local police being involved is quite different.

another story here from 2013 British tourist loses part of skull in 22ft balcony fall in Thailand A British tourist who survived a 22-foot fall onto his head from a hotel balcony in Thailand has flown home with a quarter of his skull in his hand luggage.

Speaking from his bed at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, Lee, who still cannot remember the fall, said he "can't understand" how the accident happened.

It is an unclear death and as such it has to be considered a murder until this can ecluded beyond reasonable doubt.

It does not look like the rtp did that, nor even like they tried to.

Precedent was set more than 30 years ago after a death in Saudi in 79. It provided grounds by which an inquest could later be held into the death of Princess Diana.

This was the guy, who according to the RTP fell of a cliff 50 meters into sea and drowned.

Despite the 50 meter fall, there was not a scratch on his body!!

Another fine piece of investigative work by the RTP!!

Or in other words, another case of sweeping under the carpet, what really happened!!

"Despite the 50 meter fall, there was not a scratch on his body!!"

Your assertion conflicts with that of the Coroner in England...

"Home Office pathologist Dr Michael Biggs said Nick had 237 mg of alcohol in his body. The UK legal limit for driving is 80 mgs.

He said: “There were some bruises on his face. He could have fell, bumped, or been assaulted. From a pathologist’s point of view, his injuries are not from an assault but I can’t rule it out"

Or in other words, another case of your speculation and not knowing what really happened.

Compared to Pattaya it's a kindergarten.

But I do like the Island of Death moniker should do well with TAT.

Posted

"The Isand of Death" has a sinister ring to it.

TAT could promote it, I am sure of that.

Koh Khwām tāy.

Not exactly a TAT conceptual feat of advertising legerdemain.

Actually Koh Desamoli would be more apt.

Find out another theory, not for sale, Royal property.

Thailand, the hub of suicidal divers... No highrises on Tao, so they queue to jump off the cliffs there. All 'accidents', of course, what else? TiT...

The corner made an 'open conclusion' this leaves plenty of room for speculation, whats the matter with you???? The parents want further investigation..............understand

So there is a cover-up because he had no "scratches", OK.

From the article you didn't even bother to read:

"He said: “There were some bruises on his face. He could have fell, bumped, or been assaulted. From a pathologist’s point of view, his injuries are not from an assault but I can’t rule it out.”

He said a lot of the injuries had occurred after his death."

Are you agreeing that it was a fall that killed him or not?

The RTP covering things up is hardly a far fetched scenario either is it ?

RTP covering things up would be far closer to the norm rather than being far fetched....

50m fall and only some bruises to his face, not anywhere else and not any broken bones. Amazing!
