Non Immigrant Visa Information

Featured Replies

Hello, I am looking for some feedback on our situation please?

My wife is on a Non-Immigrant Visa valid until 1 Feb 2015 that she applied for in Singapore.

Our daughter damaged her Australian passport with original Thai visa in this. By the time we got her new Australian passport her visa has expired so she has to leave to apply for her education visa in Singapore.

Our son is at school in Thailand on an Education Visa valid until 21 Jan 2015.

A couple of questions I'd like cleared for me are,

1. Does my son require to leave Thailand to get his visa extended or does he just go to Immigration and have this extended?

2. My wife needs to leave Thailand with our daughter before her current visa expires, does she submit a re entry permit form for a multiple re entry to allow her to travel back?

3. Our daughter visa has expired by roughly 30 days. Immigration in Bangkok know situation regarding this and we have all the school paperwork requirements. What will we be expecting in fine at airport when they leave for Singapore?

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

1. He can get an extension of stay at immigration with supporting documents from the school.

2. If she has a multiple entry non-o visa she would not need a re-entry permit. If she has a single entry non-o she would need a re-entry permit to keep her 90 day entry valid. If she has an extension of stay from immigration she would need a re-entry permit.

Re-entry permits are issued as a single re-entry permit (1000 baht) or a multiple re-entry permit (3800 baht).

3. If your daughter is under the age of 15 she will not be charged the overstay fine but will get a stamp stating she overstayed. Otherwise it will be a fine of 500 baht per day up to a maximum of 20k baht.
