Breaking out in pimples around stomach and sides

Featured Replies

Since I've arrived, I've broken out with pimples on the stomach area and my sides. A Google search says it could be from insect bites and then about ten other technical names I don't understand. Any one else experienced this?

instead of posting here,,

why not go to the clinic, or at least the pharmacy, they are good here the pharmacies

Could be anything from bed bugs to herpes gladiatorum. So go to the clinic because it could be bacterial or viral.

Quite likely..

If they itch and you find yourself trying not to scratch them, my money is on prickly heat caused by humidity. Wear loose-fitting clothes and apply liberal doses of St Lukes Prickly Heat powder. It's soothing and should clear up the problem quickly. Use a gentle soap with moisturiser. I use Dove.

If this doesn't help, see a dermatologist who will check for allergies.

Thanks all. It doesn't itch and it's not a rash. Bed bugs could be possible. I'm traveling around Thailand now and have stayed in several different hotels. Anyhow I get back home to CM after New Years and plan to get it checked out then.

Bed bugs itch and bite in a line.

More likely shingles or herpes.

It's not a rash, painful or blistering (and I've had my chickenpox vaccine) so I doubt it's shingles. Herpes is sexually transmitted so it's not that either.

Also shingles would usually be on just one side. OP says it is on both sides.

Bites or prickly heat seem the most likely to me.

Yes Sheryl! I forgot to note that as well. Shingles appears to show up as a very red rash on one side. What I have is a sea of pimples on both sides and across my stomach - and they don't burn or itch. Anyhow it also seems that people with shingles and herpes are more from a drug use / multiple sexual partners crowd and I don't belong to either. Anyhow, I'm off to the clinic Monday so will keep all enquiring minds notified! Happy holidays!

Hardly. Some types of herpes yes but not the type that causes shingles, that is herpes zoster AKA chickenpox and the folks that get it are simply those who had chickenpox as kids and are now on the wrong side of 50 years of age, or for some reason immunosuppressed...

It is a disease of advancing age, which is indignity enough, but nothing to do with drugs or sex....

(I'm currently suffering a bout of shingles so excuse a little touchiness on the topic!) .

If it was Shingles you would be in pain all the time....it's brutal. I said Herpes Gladi because it is not an STD. You could catch it from getting a massage to a full blown wrestling fight. I have seen a few guys catch it from massage or gym mats.

Maybe a severe case of acne or, as happened to me once, an allergy to a pet dog or other animal?

Did the clinic come up with a diagnosis?
