Just posted this also on Plants, Pets and Vets forum:

Seeking persons interested and capable of joining a volunteer team to translate horticultural/arboricultural words and terms from English into Thai language.

I am an American arborist working with Thai partners from the RFD (Thailand Royal Forestry Dept), Kasetsart and Chulalongkorn Universities on the development of a tree care training program for tree workers and tambon administrators throughout Thailand.

A first step, in order to facilitate translation and utilization of training publications from the ISA (International Society of Arboriculture), is to translate an existing "glossary of arboricultural terms".

Here is a link to the ISA online dictionary European languages project:

http://www.isa-arbor...dictionary.aspx

The ISA will provide a spreadsheet similar to the attached example from the Chinese translation project.

Volunteers would contribute as much as they can, without being expected to know and translate all of the more than 1200 words/terms. The contributions will be compiled, reviewed and edited for publication.

If you or someone you know is interested in exercising their horticultural, safety, engineering knowledge and translation skills to help with this project, please PM me. Don
