They probably learnt about destroying Illegal fishing boats from Australia Navy. Australia has been doing this for years to Illegal Indonesian Fishing boats in Australian waters.

I hope the Indonesian navy removed all fuels and other toxic materials first to protect the very waters they are protecting.

Why not get the vessels to port and then do whatever to dispose of them.

In any case it would be nice if the ships were sank to form artificial reefs, a bit of poetic justice if you will

Since the diving industry is one of the biggest players in marine conservation efforts it would be a nice gesture too; I'm picturing an underwater graveyard of illegal fishing boats turned into a diving attraction; of course it would also help the ecosystem, provided the ships are cleaned up a bit.

That's called polluting the environment. We can't have these monkies sinking ships everyday, the sea will be.........
