rkeyologynut Posted January 1, 2015 Share Posted January 1, 2015 Hi everyone. I am looking to buy a converter suitable for an 1800 watt electrical appliance that has a high initial power surge. It is recommended to get 2-3 times the wattage rating for this type of appliance (electric grill), so I am looking for either a 5000 watt or 10,000 watt rated voltage converter. I'm pretty sure I can get one at Pantip, but does anyone know about how much they cost? I would go check myself, but I'm still in the states and want to bring the grill back with me. Crossy Posted January 1, 2015 Share Posted January 1, 2015 5-10kW is a pretty meaty transformer, going to weigh in at 15-20kg and be about 250mm on a side when in its box, a beast. Cost? A good question but a quick look on AliExpress nets figures of several hundred dollars a pop Is there anything special about this grill that makes it worth that much pain?
