Hi,

I have been recommended to start injecting B-12 to treat the symptoms of my Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, but I am a bit clueless about how to go about it and I'm finding a lot of the info online simply confusing. So I have a few questions

1) Is this stuff readily available in pharmacies in Bangkok?

2) What am I actually asking for when I go into the pharmacies as I know there are different types of B12 and I am not sure which is easier to get in Bangkok and what prices should I be expecting.

3) How much should I expect a local run of the mill clinic to charge me for walking in and politely asking them to inject it for me and where should it be injected into my body?

4) If there are people on the board with experience of this, what dosage did you inject and how often?

Thank you very much in advance for any help you can give me.

Wait - you've apparently received professional medical advice on how to treat a debilitating disease but your advisor didn't (or couldn't?) give you any of the information you're asking here. Do I have that right?

I don't mean to sound dismissive but I strongly advise against learning from strangers on the Internet about how to inject yourself with medication. At the very least you need to sit down with a doctor or RN for one-on-one guidance to make sure you get it right.

Its a Vitamin attrayant, not medication. I remember some 20 years ago when I first arrived in Thailand & was partying hard in Pattaya, we used to get B-12 & multi Vitamin shots, it got popular after it was found Frank Sinatra (Rat Pack) mob would take them when they were all partying in Vegas.

They are (or used to be) quite cheap, I mean 50 baht then, taken in the bottom, I am sure you will find a clinic that will do the jab for you if your anything like me & needles (terrified) The B-12 stings a little.

I know that B12 has low toxicity. I'm more concerned about learning how to inject oneself without proper guidance. Needle sanitation, air bubble embolisms and so on.

Also the advisor's credentials comes into question because of this. Imagine a doctor telling a newly-diagnosed diabetic that he needs daily insulin shots and then just dumping the patient out on the street without educating him on where to buy insulin, how to store it, how to inject, available clinics that could do the injection and so on.

[edit] on re-reading the op I see he's actually looking for a clinic where they will do the injection for him. So I retract my assumption that he was trying to learn how to DIY (although op's #4 still makes it sound that way). I'm still concerned about advisor not giving a patient the information he needs.

No intention of injecting myself i was just curious to know where it is injected. i was diagnosed with post viral chronic fatigue syndrome in april given some zinc supplements and told it would get better over time. It is a difficult disease to diagnose and treat correctly and the supplements are an attempt to boost my energy levels and ease muscle aches. Thailand doesnt have any real specialists in this area so Im stuck with researching stuff by myself for the moment.

Thanks for the reply

I am well up on the treatments for CFS and Fibro as my wife has suffered for a number of years ... yes B12 can be helpful .. she used Nevramin B1 B6 B12 ... when she was bad I injected her daily for 12months ..P M me and I will give you some advice that will be useful.

I don't was to get into discussions on this topic ...when we lived in the UK she saw a renown CFS consultant.

She can't gym much anymore but leads a fairly normal life and is a golf nut! My one piece of advice now is DON'T exercise other than very lightly.

CFS is NOT a diagnostic,it's barely a vague description of symptoms.

I really suggest you to try to find out what is REALLY GOING ON.

Before injecting B12 (which by the way you will become dependent from) I also suggest you go to a hospital and test for it.

Then if needed you could start by sub labial instead

What are your symptoms?

Are you suggesting CFS is not a disease?

Mods can you lock / delete the thread no one seems to have an answer and I can see where the thread is going to head to next

Cheers

1) Yes

2) from 70 to 700B depending of your clinic

3)In your buttocks, the clinic will show you

4) From 50 to 1000 ml depending of your needs
