Hi guys,

I would require your advise again. I came to Thailand with my German passport and tourist visa for 1 year , which will expire by end of October 2015.

I recently obtained my Thai ID . I'm eligible because I was born here and migrated to Germany when I was little. Now everything is sorted out and I'm actually a dual citizen now.

My question is: what the hell do I do with my German tourist visa after October??? I could only imagine that I leave TH with my German passport, cross another Asean country and get back in with my Thai passport.

I've read through the net and TV that it's actually "working". For example, Thai lady shows Aussie pass once she gets in kangeroo land and when she gets back, she shows her Thai passport. Some immigration officers would like to see both passports, respectively the departure/arrival stamp.

I don't have any experience on that and would like to get your input and feedback on that matter.

Thank you

You can fly out using your German passport and then use your Thai passport when you re-enter the country.

You could do it by going to any nearby country.

Thanks a lot. Will do that!

Actually, can this be done also , for let's say a Japan trip? I fly to jp with my German passport and return to LOS with my Thai passport?

Be aware, there is no "tourist visa for an year". Maybe you have another kind of visa, like non-immigrant multiple entry, meaning you have to leave country every 90 days.

If you do not want to leave now to re-enter with Thai passport, you can obtain an one year extension of stay at immigration with your Thai ID (and possibly) house book. Cost Bt. 1,900.
