Canselation of visa extension

Featured Replies

My wife is Thai with Thai passport but she also have a Swedish passport that she used to enter Thailand last year, due to a name conflict in her old Thai passport and the Swedish passport. Before everything was sorted out with a new Thai passport she had to get an extension for her Swedish visa and she got one year without any problems, the downsize is that she have to report to immigration every 90 days. My question is can she cancel her extension at immigration ? We dont se any use of the extension due to the fact when traveling to Sweden she use the Thai passport to exit Thailand and the Swedish passport to enter Sweden and vice versa traveling to Thailand,. Any advise is appriciated.

She has to leave Thailand on her foreign passprot and re-enter by air on her Thai passport and all will be well again.

In future it will be at check-in for the ailrine show both paspsort (to confirm no visa needed), at immigration show the passport of the country entering/leaving.

"She has to leave Thailand on her foreign passprot and re-enter by air on her Thai passport ..."

Just out of idle curiosity ... I understand that if she leaves Thailand without a re-entry permit that her extension stamped in the foreign passport will end, but why does she need to "re-enter by air?"

If she exited the country at a land border on the foreign passport and returned using the Thai passport would she have a problem because immigrations in both countries would want to see entry/exit stamps from the other country in that passport?

The missing exit stamps would indeed be the problem.

One could stand its ground as a Thai national cannot be denied entry, but it is easier to just leave and return by air without any hussle.
