That would be a shame with his 500:1 margin account. Seems like he's not cut out to be a stockbroker. Maybe his flying "Gig" will materialize.

If I'd done that at Luke's age, I would still be working as a laboratory technician in a boring north eastern suburb of London all these years later.

It's easier to take risks when you're young, before circumstances, wives, kids, mortgages and the like nail you down.

Good for Luke, I say. I'll bet he's having a lot of fun and if it goes wrong he can always go back home and still be young enough to start a career.

he may well feel that way but that statement in no way describes his views on the use of leverage for other things.

recognized as equivalent by who? could you obtain a PE designation?

Engineering is a profession with two systems of entry. Either you do a degree or you work and go to college part time and do different papers which can bring you up to degree level. This system is normal in the Armed Forces and heavy industry.

it is illegal to practice professional engineering without a PE designation. unless you have one, you cannot sign off on engineering designs and drawings. in many areas of practice.
