I must have read every word written on the subject of settlement visas for the UK and I think I have covered most things but I have a slight concern over the financial requirements. I comfortably meet the requirements with a work pension, state pension and some money in bank and building society. It is the evidence which is worrying me. I do not get monthly payslips for my work pension but I have a letter from the pension provider showing the annual amount with a payslip included showing the gross and net income per month and I have a letter from DWP in the UK showing my weekly entitlement to state pension. I do not get monthly bank statements but I got Santander to do me a statement up to November 2014 on headed stationary showing these monthly payments going in with a letter confirming the amount in my e saver account...again on headed stationary. A friend brought this out for me. I can supply an e statement for the period from November 2014 up until I make the application in mid February and they can cross check to see that it is entirely consistent..I just don't have headed stationary statements bang up to date.

Do you think this will be a problem? Do they stick rigidly to having to have all 6 months on headed paper or can they cross check to see consistency of ins and outs? My pension is a Civil Service pension so paid by the government and is 100% secure. What do you think? Do I have enough evidence?

You seem to be mixing up your requirement categories. The 6 months of bank statements are needed for evidence of employment income. For evidence based on pensions you don't need 6 months of bank statements. What you need is evidence from either DWP ( a pension letter, which you already have), and a letter from your private pension company confirming your pension entitlement and the amount. In addition to this you must provide at least one personal bank statement in the 12-month period prior to the application date showing payment of the pension into that account.

And that's all you need for the financial requirement, as long as your pensions reach the 18,600 GBP a year threshold.

Thanks Tony M. Always nice to have advice from the experts. I think I can relax on that front as I seem to be covered.

This from the official guidance :

8.2. Pension – Specified Evidence 8.2.1 The evidence required to demonstrate Pension income is specified in Appendix FM-SE: 10(e) To evidence a pension, all the following evidence must be provided:
(i) Official documentation from: (1) The Department for Work and Pensions (in respect of the Basic State Pension and the Additional or Second State Pension) or other government department or agency, including the Veterans Agency; (2) An overseas pension authority; or (3) A pension company, confirming pension entitlement and amount.
(ii) At least one personal bank statement in the 12-month period prior to the date of application showing payment of the pension into the person's account.
