Gentlemen,

I am fairly sure that this question has been answered “to death”, however……

1. I currently hold a one year Non Immigration Visa (expires on 7th November)

2. I need to visit immigration and tell them I am still here (19 August 2006)

a. I was late one time and had to pay a 2,000 baht fine

b. I renew the visa for another 3 months (valid until 19th November 2006)

3. My contract finishes at the end of this month - so work will contact immigration on 14th of September

My question is - am I “visa--legal” for

a) 14th October - one month after work advises immigration

:o 7th November - The Non Immihgration Visa expires

c) 19th November - 3 months from my next immigration visit.

d) Get another job

e) None of the above!

Hope this is an easy one! - Thanks in view of your support

Kindest - Stefan

The Visa a Non Immigration Multi entry visa that expires on the 7th. The only reason i think that I have until the 19th of November is beau I was late on one of my 3 monthly "check ups"

Do you leave the country every 90 days? What does your current permitted to stay stamp say? I can not make any sense of your status as reported because Immigration does not extend stays in 90 day blocks that I am aware of and there is no such thing as renewing a visa. You renew an extension of stay or you obtain a new visa.

1. So question one is the visa you obtained from a Consulate outside Thailand was a multi entry and has the date 7 Nov 06 and it and was thus issued in November 05?

2. What is the date you must leave Thailand on your permitted to stay stamp?

The basic rule is that if you are here on an extension of stay (do not have to make 90 day visa runs to another country) you must report to immigration after you lose your basis (work permit) and then will have one week to leave the country. The dates on your original visa have no significance for this. If you still have a valid visa from a Consulate you could then return using that visa. If not you would have to obtain a new visa or use visa free entry.

Apologies - in Hindsight I should have added more detail.

I have a work visa for a Thai National company that is valid until the 22nd of November.

My Non Immigration visa as initially obtained in Vientiane - Laos

My Non Immigration visa is for 1 year - I have to visit immigration every 90 days to say that I am still in Thailand and still working. I do not have to leave the country just report to immigration.

1. My work visa expires on the 22nd November

2. Work will officially tell immigration I have ceased work on the 14 September

3. My Non immigration multi- entry visa officially expires on the 7th November

4. Because of a late attendance - I will visit immigration on the 18th August which will (theoretically) give me a three month extension

I think from your advice that I will need to leave the country one week after work advises immigration - and then I can return because I still have a valid visa - Is this the case?

Thanx

Yes. But only for the 90 days entry it will allow. But if you find employment you can start the extension of stay process again.
