Hi all

Just having a lil trouble trying to sort thing out here. The thing is my bf, from Holland, planned to come visit me in the next 2 months and we'd definitely love him to stay as long as tourist visa allows him to. So now he's looking at getting a multiple entry, either double or tripple (if possible). What I need advices on are;

- Does anybody know if it's hard to ask for a tripple entry tourist visa from the Thai consulate in the Hague? I've once called them and they told me they can issue 3 entries max... but practically, do they usually grant the tripple's if you ask for it? or slim chance to none?

- What should be put into "Length of stay" on visa application? Say if we want to go for a tripple one, can we just fill in 180 days? (60 days x 3 entries)

- "Reason of stay" for double or tripple entries' request, what is most likely the best reason to give to the consulate so that they will kindly issue the visa? Traveling purely? Or should my bf tells them he wants to visit his gf too? Any other better reason? Cause to the consulate, it might not sound very sensible if you tell them you want to stay in Thailand for many months only for traveling purpose. Any idea?

- Last but not least, I'm not sure whether I completely understand nature of multiple entries tourist visa. So correct me If I'm wrong. Say my bf got double entries... that means he can stay in Thailand for upto 60 days then before or on the last day the visa expires, he goes to immigration office in BKK and request for another 30 days extension (is there possibility immigration might reject?) And when those 30 days almost gone or right on the last active day, he can do border -hop then the 2nd entry is activated so he can stay another 60 days, plus 30 days extension in the end if he follows the same loop. So in total, a double entries would let him stay for 180 days?

Your help is much appreciated :o Thank you in advance.

"Visiting Thai girl friend and to explore beautiful Thailand."

Can you send him a copy of your id card?

That might help.

I would write 3 x 60 as the length of stay.

By the way a triple entry can get you almost 9 months.

1st entry 60 day.

Extension for 30 day

Border run and 2nd entry 60 day

Extension for 30 days

Now you have to be careful as the visa stamp in the passport will only be valid for 6 months**, so the 2nd border run must be before the stamp

expires.

3rd Entry 60 days

Extension for 30 days.

** Try to get the visa as close to the departure date, so as not to loose days.

Hey astral thank you aloooot :D

Will try to get the visa as close to the departure date.

But the consulate also stated that it'd take them bout 'a month' from the date of application till when we can get visa granted. That's why my bf plans to go apply for it like a month and a half before departure, just in case they ask for more supporting doc's. A wise move or better not? :o Say if he departures on 15 Oct, will you suggest he go apply for the visa around 13 or 14 Sep?? Is there a chance that the consulate might not be able to issue him a visa within 1-month time? (You know everything can happen when it comes to bureaucracy) The date on his plane ticket can't be changed.

Oh and will he have to show them a round trip plane ticket? Cause he only booked a one way ticket and will book a flight back later when he's already in Thailand.

Thank you once again :D

when you have a visa you don't need a round-trip ticket, only if you want to get a 30 day entry stamp you officially need that, and anyways it's hardly ever asked for. If you want to use a one-way ticket the carrier will want to see your visa before letting you on the plane though, to avoid the possibility of having to take you back if your entry is refused.

Last time I used the thai consulate in the Hague the 3x entry tourist visa was given out on a one-day turn-around (bring your passport in the morning, collect it next day afternoon). Things might have changed though. No questions asked, it's one of the easiest places to get visa's

Thank you Jdietz :D

I should have him checked again on the turn-around time, one month seems to be toooo long. If it can be done within a 1 day turn-around, that'd be perfect.

Anyway, the 1st entry should be activated within 90 days after the visa's granted right?

And according to Astral ... the 3rd entry should be activated within 6 months, correct? Is it 6 months after the 1st one is activated or 6 months after the visa is granted?

Hmmm very doubtful :o

Help pleaseee
