Nida Poll says Yingluck will be punished

BANGKOK: -- Ex-premier Yingluck Shinawatra will be impeached by the National Legislative Assembly (NLA) for dereliction of duty over her rice-pledging scheme that incurred damages of almost 700 billion baht to the state, the latest poll conducted by the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) said.

All taxis required to use taximeter, DLT official says

Thai Army Chief satisfied with Cambodia visit

BANGKOK, 22 January 2015 (NNT) – The Royal Thai Army Commander-in-Chief has revealed he is satisfied with his visit to Cambodia, where both countries had the opportunity to discuss many cooperation projects.


The Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army Gen. Udomdej Sitabutr has revealed the outcome of his official visit to Cambodia on 21-22 January 2015, where he was welcomed by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for National Defence for Cambodia Gen. Tea Banh and high ranking military officials of Cambodia.

Both countries discussed cooperation in many aspects to enhance operations in the border areas. Both countries will cooperate and work together under the agreements that have been made, said the Thai Army Chief.

The Army Chief also revealed that the Cambodian Army Chief has requested a boost in forestation of border areas, which the Thai army already has started the forestation project in the areas of the First and the Second Army Region of Thailand to increase the forest density in the area.

He has also said that Cambodia is supportive for the establishment of the Thai-Cambodian Special Economic Zones as both countries will help upgrade trade cooperation and volume between the two countries.

BANGKOK: -- A Thai investment firm, Naddasri Co Ltd, has denied charge by a Chinese investment firm that it has deceived the firm to buy majority stakes with promise to gain management control in a hotel in Chiang Mai but was later rejected.

Survey: December corruption index hits five-year low

Four aged people killed in road accident in Suphan

SUPHAN BURI: -- Two aged women were killed when they were hit by a speeding car taking three aged men to an ordination ceremony in Suphan Buri at 1:30 pm Thursday, police said.


Two aged men in the car were also killed while the 72-year-old driver was injured. He claimed that the two women pulled a bicycle to cross the road suddenly so he could not stop his car in time. The two women were 62 and 66 years old while the two killed men were 60 and 79 years old.

The driver, Samarn Pongpanit, was arrested by police.

Isaan Poll shows 67 percent of people are indifferent with Ms Yingluck's impeachment

BANGKOK: -- About 67 percent of the respondents to an opinion poll conducted by Khon Kaen University said they felt indifferent if former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra was to be impeached by the National Legislative Assembly tomorrow.
