Korat businessman hurt in spectacular Phuket crash

Mr Pitchayakarn's car was severely wrecked.

PHUKET: -- A businessman from Nakhon Ratchassima (Korat) was rushed to hospital on Wednesday evening (January 21) after he crashed his car at speed while heading south along Thepkasattri Rd.

Pitchayakarn Masuk, 40, owner of a video production company in the capital of Isan, missed the notorious Makphrok bend at about 6pm. The car rolled several times before ending up, severely damaged, on the central reservation.

Mr Pitchayakarn was taken to Thalang hospital semi-conscious and with a variety of injuries.

Police believe he either may have fallen asleep at the wheel of the car, or he was not familiar with the road and tried to take the bend too fast.

So driving at high speed but fell asleep at the wheel ... brain dead before the accident then.

Tried teaching the g/f to drive in a field this afternoon....i can now see why they drive so poorly.....most of them simply cant handle quick decisions like 'turning the wheel while cornering'.... its just beyond most.

Epic accident. Looks like he rolled it too. I bet there was a samlor involved . Makphrok bend is full of idiots selling noodles in the middle of the road.
