Is true in UK a car can park in front of your garage or driveway, blocking use of it?
Guess it is and no country is perfect well yea, in the usa you can buy a gun in a shop and then go and shoot people, puts parking in front of someone's garage into perspective. though in america someone'd probably shoot you if you did it. -

Man Shoots Pregnant Partner Dead in Domestic Dispute While Cleaning Gun
Picture courtesy of Khoasod. A 35-year-old pregnant woman was shot and killed by her partner during a heated argument in their home in the Thung Khru district of Bangkok. The incident occurred shortly after midday on 12 April. Police were called to the scene, where officers from Thung Khru Police Station, forensic investigators, and a medical examiner from Siriraj Hospital responded swiftly to the reported shooting. The home, a three-storey detached house, is located less than 100 metres from the police station, allowing officers to arrive within two minutes. Upon arrival, police found the victim, identified only as Ms A, lying deceased on her back in a second-floor bedroom with a single gunshot wound to the right temple. A .38 calibre revolver was discovered near her body and collected as evidence. The alleged shooter, her 35-year-old partner known as “Kai”, was apprehended outside the home as he was attempting to flee in a vehicle. He was taken into custody without resistance. During questioning, Mr Kai told investigators that he had previously worked as a goldsmith before leaving the trade to open an ice cream stall at Krung Klang market, close to Thung Khru Police Station. He said he met the victim in mid-2024 at a Japanese bar in Bangkok’s Thaniya Road, Silom area, and they soon began living together. According to Mr Kai, the victim had recently informed him that she was pregnant, and he was reportedly overjoyed, taking her to register for antenatal care a few months ago. However, tensions reportedly developed in the relationship, particularly after the victim left home for a week without contact and later returned, a situation that led Mr Kai to suspect she might be returning to her previous line of work in the entertainment business. On the day of the incident, Kai said he was cleaning his firearm when a message from another woman arrived on his Line application. The victim allegedly saw the message, which triggered a heated argument. In a fit of rage, he admitted to fatally shooting her in the temple. He expressed remorse, telling officers he regretted acting in the heat of the moment, which resulted in the loss of both his partner and unborn child. Police have charged Mr Kai with murder and illegal possession of a firearm. He is currently in custody at Thung Khru Police Station pending further legal proceedings. -- 2025-04-13 -

Cyber Police Arrest 3 Selling Illegal Firearms Online to Fund Songkran Festivities
Picture of arrest. Thailand’s Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) has apprehended three men for illegally selling firearms online, uncovering a social media network involving thousands of members trading in weapons. One of the suspects admitted to selling guns to fund car modifications, while another confessed he was trying to raise money to celebrate the Songkran festival. The investigation began when CCIB officers discovered suspicious activity in a Facebook group with nearly 20,000 members, where illegal firearm sales were taking place. Undercover officers contacted a Facebook user named “Ben Kanasanun,” who agreed to sell them a modified blank-firing pistol resembling a Glock 19. The transaction was arranged to take place near Wat Khao Phra Bat in Ban Laeng subdistrict, Rayong. At the meeting point, police arrested Mr Kanasanun, 20, and found a modified blank-firing handgun capable of firing .380 calibre rounds, along with one bullet and a magazine. Following the arrest, police traced the source of the weapon to another Facebook account with the provocative name “Jup Jim Tee Rim Bueng (Backup 2).” The account was linked to individuals residing in Si Racha, Chonburi. Investigators persuaded Mr Kanasanun to arrange a further firearm purchase with the account holders, again scheduling the exchange at the same Rayong location. At the second meeting, police intercepted a white Nissan without license plates, carrying two men later identified as Mr Phakphum (26) and Mr Sahasawat (25). A search of their vehicle and belongings uncovered another modified blank-firing pistol, a homemade break-action handgun, and a large quantity of .380 calibre ammunition. Mr Kanasanun confessed to being an enthusiast of firearms, initially purchasing weapons for personal interest before realising he could profit by reselling them online, earning around 2,000–3,000 baht per gun. He stated the proceeds were used to customise his vehicle. Mr Phakphum also admitted to purchasing firearms via Facebook pages and reselling them to fund Songkran festivities. Mr Sahasawat, however, denied any knowledge of the weapons, claiming he was merely accompanying his friend and unaware the guns were in the vehicle. The three men now face charges of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, and carrying weapons in public without a permit. All suspects, along with the seized firearms, ammunition, and the unregistered vehicle, were taken into custody and will be prosecuted in accordance with Thai law. Investigations into related social media accounts are ongoing as authorities work to dismantle the broader network involved in the illegal arms trade. -- 2025-04-13 -

PDPC Investigates Bangchak Data Breach Affecting 6.5 Million Records
Picture courtesy of ThaiRath. Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Committee (PDPC) is urgently investigating a significant data breach involving Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited, after the company reported unauthorised access to its customer feedback system affecting approximately 6.5 million records. According to a statement released via the PDPC Thailand Facebook page on 11 April, Bangchak first detected the breach on 9 April and took immediate action to block the unauthorised access and secure the affected systems. The compromised data came from a platform used to collect customer feedback. The PDPC has directed Bangchak to conduct a thorough internal investigation and provide a full report detailing the nature of the exposed data, the impact on customers, the root cause of the breach, and a risk assessment. The agency is also assessing whether there has been a violation of Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), which could result in legal action if non-compliance is found. In response to the breach, Bangchak has sent SMS alerts to affected customers. The company stated that no sensitive personal or financial data was compromised. However, it warned users not to click on suspicious links or share their OTP (One-Time Password) codes with others, a common tactic in phishing and fraud schemes. The PDPC reiterated the importance of adhering to data protection laws and emphasised that preventative measures must be taken to avoid similar incidents in the future. -- 2025-04-13
