bino
I've got some friends from home visiting in Phuket, and want to meet up with them in Krabi. I'll fly there from BKK, but what can I suggest for them to get to Krabi / Ao Nang area from Bang Tao, and back again after a few days? Is there any bus or car service that anyone can recommend? They are apprehensive travelers- looking for something safe, sane and reliable. No yaba fueled minivans, and they are too nervous to rent a car and drive themselves. Thanks in advance. madmitch
Get the boat. Book it at a local agent. Generally cheaper than doing it yourself or booking online plus someone to ring if the pickup doesn't arrive.
hansgruber
I did it by scooter a few times. 3 hours but dangerous as hell. Boat is half that time and much more relaxing.
Bogan Koori
Ferry to Ao Nang 1000 baht including minivan pick up about 7 am Leaves from Rattsada Pier around 8. Be aware. Rattsada has the most expensive beer in Phuket. So if you are fanging for a few cans at that time of the morning do a BYO.

bino
Thanks to all for the suggestions- I had completely forgotten about the ferry service. That will probably be the best way to go.
