I'm still not sure how many of our players fit in to Pochs style of high tempo high energy ! and I'm still don't think we have enough quality in our attacking midfielders and forwards.

I agree alfie, But A coach's life at a club Its sort of 2 stages the first is getting a group you don't necessarily want and make the best out of them

coach's/managers like

ancelloti/

benitez are good at that ,and the 2 nd stage, bearing in mind you need to avoid the sack by getting

through the first stage, arguably is a different skill set, where murry at the chavs is good at, ie getting the wedge and putting a team together.

Potts

seems to be shaping up, , bearing in mind levy's impatience, irrationality , regards coach's' and our somewhat

precarious situation regarding furure finances ie ground sharing new stad ect ect whether he gets to the second stage will be another thing

somehow I doubt it.

I wonder how much of last years shopping spree he would get rid of if he could.

I for goodness sake, we were at a near balanced spend last year; Bale out, many in. Don't pretend that has anything to do with the club finances. The balance sheet is solid. The new stadium will be financed, and our owners will make a killing profit wise.

Soldadud must go. He is the one dud amongst some promising signings. Baldini should have been hung. Let's nor regurgitate the obvious.

All Arsenal supporters are salt shakers that is one thing for certain.

Dear oh dear, you are a little bit touchy aren't you?

Was it Wenger's comments?

After Arsenal borrowed the money to build it (the new stadium), Wenger described the years that followed as "the most sensitive period in the history of the club" because of the pressure of ensuring annual Champions League qualification to help repay the loan.
"When we were in a position where we had to be in the Champions League financially, and you get into March or April and we are not, that is extremely difficult," he recalled.
"The stress is terrible because you feel the future of the club is at stake and you have not a lot of margin (for error). Every point you lose can be dramatic."
Spurs announced this month they were "starting to engage with a number of financing institutions and potential funders", though they have stressed publicly that they are not in any takeover discussions.
Wenger said the easiest way to build a new ground would be to find a new owner for the club. "If an owner comes in, and says 'look I put in £400m to buy the stadium' (building) it is easy," he added.
Tottenham's owners have always denied they are looking to sell the club. However, Wenger then warned about the problems of financing the ground.
"I don't know their financial plan well enough, but in the end we built the stadium for £400m," he said of the stadium the club moved into in 2006. "Today it would cost £600m, £650m or £700m.
"It is much more difficult today, because we built our stadium at a price that you couldn't afford any more. We managed to build our stadium by subsidising it with our own resources. That is much more difficult today.
"The way we did it is the hardest way, because we had no outside financial help and had to negotiate with the banks to get the money at the start. Let's not forget we paid £120m just for the ground. . . We had a lot of financial problems."
Despite the difficulties, Wenger sees stadium expansion as the only way that Tottenham can keep up with the biggest teams. "You cannot be in a business where you turn down 15,000 or 20,000 people every week."

Put simply, Pottechino might be stuck with most of what he's got for a few years, with little scope to buy big.

I know. We've been there, done that, just with a rather exceptional manager who got top four every year.

You can't even do that without the constraints of a new stadium.

What chance your owners are running around Qatar trying to find a new owner?

Barcodes are a better investment in all respects other than they are not London-based and their head-case manager needs replacing. Everton not a bad buy for someone who does not want to invest a lot in bricks & mortar too, plus they have an outstanding manager. West Ham might be a better buy too (but dunno whether they are sellers).

Not a given that an available sugar daddy chooses Spurs.

yeah, could be the answer why we took such large 'punts' on demi proven high end players, looking toward's one that takes the next step on and

helps part fund our move

potts, seems to have the abilty to adapt the various peices to suit, atm push them on and up? we've yet to see, and whether he will have the luck

that goes with the bringing on of a player, like a bale on paper there aint a shortage of candidates will he be allowed to keep him and get the

benefit, maybe tricky times ahead

considering what uncertainty of the future holds

financially who knows

Where is the link that says the club is for sale?

There will be no links, but the market suggests that Lewis wants to cash out - before gambling the club on funding a new stadium which will cost a lot more than the club is worth now, and which could take a lot longer to pay off than Arsenal's did if you can't guarantee the 20m+ that Champions League football generates.

I suspect that's why Cain Hoy walked away.

It might be better to leave it a year until the financial situation improves.

But as Wenger says, it's stupid to turn away 20,000 paying customers 40+ times a year. At (say) 30 quid a ticket that's 24m a year, and I'm sure you've got your own prawn sandwich munchers that will pay more than that for a few free plastic glasses of Carling or Budweiser.

Trouble is if you are financing your own stadium you have to do it the hard way like we did.

I'd say Soldado and for me the huge disappointment, Paulinho.

Such a strange on this. Tim Vickery reckoned this was a major transfer coup getting him at 17m. Supposedly the second best player in Brazil for arleast two seasons before we signed him and Sherwood ultimately broke him.

Eriksen was anonymous last night. Like Chadli he blows hot and cold.

Lamela is shaping up into a decent prospect..... He will develop with this new squad.

I agree Adebayor was almost begging to be subbed. He was on his chin straps in the second half. Should have put Kane on. Trust in those youngsters Mauricio !

Off topic, but any idea what he's using on his barnet to thicken it, it was so thin and whispery at end of last season Can't be a transplant, not enough time to grow by start of season Looks like he might have dyed it light brown and using on of those sprays like Mane or Topic before games, as they don't make blonde,

Anyway, suits him and looks a few years younger thumbsup.gif

Football hasn't been improved by it though

Why do you persist in posting about Eriksen's hair?

He's losing it, its as simple as that.

Try Biotin ups, 2500 mcg daily. Relatively cheap, easy and healthy vitamin supplement, It does thicken hair proper thumbsup.gif

Sorry to disappoint you but thinning hair problems is definitely not on my list of worries.

Even if he took Biotin it could not thicken it as much as it has. Biotin is simply one of the B vitamins (7) and helps with hair growth, which is miniscule,

Fair comment, though still hopeful that Paulinho will come good - more likely in the Europa in my view.

Ups, with respect, you need to be on another thread. Perhaps one that specialises in salons for men and the vast array of cosmetics they seem to sell these days. Not for me I am afraid.

This is the footy forum

Haha! Have to say if David Bentley was still on our books these posts of Ups would be hugely relevant!! He was an advert for male hair products

I think we have to be very patient here. I think we do but they are having to adjust again to a new manager for the third time in a year.

There are positive signs though. Last season you wouldn't have seen Eriksen pressing on Flamini, forcing the error which led to our goal. That was very Pochettino. Chadli is a revelation this season and continues improving as does Lamela.

I like this attacking three but facts are this is new management with different ideas. They are playing at a much higher tempo, they play to tactics which were never part of Sherwoods game and they are turning into a much harder working side.

The big problem we have is up top. Leaving us with only Soldado and Kane as backup to the unpredictable Adebayor was extremely remiss at best. As far as i'm concerned that reflects very badly on Levy.

AVB wasn't a very good manager in my eyes. The one thing he saw, was that Adebayor is not a very good footballer. Sadly now he seems to be first pick again.

1 goal in 6 games, and he will be lucky to get 5 if he stays fit all season.

How many teams were interested in him when he was up for sale... None.

The only reason we got a draw on Sunday is because Arsenal have a striker almost as bad. But at least he looks like he is trying.

Managers don't break players, e.g. Diego Forlan. Sometimes managers just don't get them.

I'd like to hope we have players working bloody hard to break back into our first team....chiefly Paulinho and Soldado among them....maybe I'm just a dreamer....?

carmine's opinion of Paulinho I will listen to.

But not yours or that .....from Arsenal.
